Thus it is. Alas, those sentient beings who do not understand, wish to represent things that do not exist. This is truly the affliction of sentient beings! They wish to speak of the meaning of the unborn. This is truly the affliction of sentient beings! They wish to regard non-existent things as existent. This is truly the affliction of sentient beings! My own nature is not established at all, yet they establish the empty talk of the eight vehicles. This is truly the affliction of sentient beings! Due to attachment to their own appearances, the eight vehicles do not see me. This is truly turning their backs on the views and arrogance of others. This is truly dividing non-duality into duality. This is truly wishing to abandon the five poisons that do not exist. This is truly wishing to accomplish the five bodies that do not exist. This is truly wishing to abandon sentient beings that do not exist. This is truly wishing to accomplish the Buddha who does not exist. This is truly wishing to abandon the ignorance that does not exist. This is truly wishing to accomplish the wisdom that does not exist. This is truly the affliction of sentient beings! They wish to abandon the object and mind that do not exist. This is truly the affliction of sentient beings! They wish to regard the non-existent grasper and grasped as existent. All these dualistic appearances, do they not understand that they are fabrications of the mind? Do they not understand that they are imputed appearances? Do they not understand that they are false? Do they not understand that they are objects of speech? Do they not understand that they are teaching inferior minds as Dharma? Do they understand that all are deceptions of the mind? Do they not understand that the Dharma of the mind is the ultimate meaning? With imputed appearances and attachment, one cannot be subdued by the Dharma. Thus it was said. This is the sixth chapter, which explains that one is not liberated from the Dharma of dualistic appearances. Then, Vajrasattva asked the teacher Kuntuzangpo: Please explain to us the meaning of the nature of reality that cannot be represented. After asking thus, the teacher of mind-nature, Kuntuzangpo, entered into the samadhi that cannot represent the meaning of the jewel-like radiant light. Having arisen from that samadhi, he spoke to the assembled retinue: A (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, Chinese literal meaning) I speak of that which is free from all representation, Vajrasattva should understand and grasp it. With the unborn, the unoriginated, transcending representation, if one clings to representation, one will not attain Buddhahood, one needs a Dharma that cannot be represented. If one clings to the practice of the three bodies, one will not attain Buddhahood, one needs a Dharma that is separate from that. Appearance, emptiness, unborn, if one clings to the practice of these three, one will not attain Buddhahood, one needs a Dharma that is separate from that. Mind, awareness, and intellect, if one clings to the practice of these three, I truly
