Thereafter, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, spoke thus to the Bhagavan: Alas! Bhagavan, Lord of Secrets, For these arrogant kings, What are the merits of taming? What are the faults of not taming? The Bhagavan replied: Listen, Indra, Lord of the Gods, The faults of not taming these arrogant kings are: Frost and hail, eradication and famine, And epidemics and plagues, Short life, little wealth, Various meaningless inauspicious things occur, If this happens, people decline, Therefore, taming is extremely important. The merits of taming are: A good harvest, birth, the end of the kalpa of famine, Long life, great wealth, and people flourish and prosper, Therefore, there is no frost or hail, peace and happiness, If it becomes like this, the world is happy, Therefore, taming is greatly proclaimed.
