Then, the dragons from the ten directions came quickly, led by the dragon king Sogama Meda, and prostrated at the feet of the Tathagata, and the dragon king prayed thus: The mantra spoken by Vajrapani is unbearable, all beings cannot bear it, it is the staff of death, with great power. Thus he prayed. Again, Sogama Meda prayed to the Bhagavan: I pray to the Bhagavan for refuge! Regarding the vow, I will also abide with my sons, relatives, and young ones. I will abide in happiness. Vajrapani is powerful, he is the protector, I pray for refuge in the three: the army, the mount, and the retinue. Wherever the heart mantra of the Great Wrathful One is recited, remembered, or merely its name is held, even from the gate of death, I, together with strength and youth, cannot cause harm. For the sake of complete protection, I will always send down rain from time to time, and bestow essence. May the crops, flowers, and fruits ripen and grow. They also prayed to the Bhagavan. O Bhagavan, please also protect us. Regarding the oath, may we dragons, together with our children, together with our wives, together with our relatives, may we abide in happiness. The mighty Vajrapani (Phyag na rdo rje stobs po che) is the protector, we take refuge in the three, together with our children. Here, other young dragons residing on the mountain, young and fierce ones, who act as enemies among the many dragons, please eliminate those enemies who destroy the lives of us other dragons. Wherever there is the essence of wrath, that which frightens all dragons, by reading this, remembering this, and even just holding its name, by that power, we dragons, powerful and young, will not cause harm or evil in that place, and all of that will abide in the oath. For the sake of complete protection, may we always rain at all times, and bestow essence. In all places, by uttering Hūṃ (藏文：ཧཱུྂ，梵文天城体：हूँ，梵文罗马拟音：hūṃ，汉语字面意思：吽), may we pacify. May we keep our oath. Wherever oath-holders abide, may they not cause harm or evil, thus the other dragons prayed. Then, the Bhagavan spoke to the dragon king Sogma Med and the other dragons: It is good that the lord of dragons and the many dragons have made an oath. Act accordingly. The entrustment for the future time and future period is this: protect all sentient beings of Jambudvipa. In the future time and future period, protect all crops, flowers, fruits, leaves, petals, roots, treetops, medicines, and forests. Dragon kings, these are the subsequent admonishments for you: Jambudvipa has become the nature of the seven precious things, not anything else. After speaking thus, then, all those dragons, including the dragon king Gawa (Dga' bo), prostrated to the two feet of the Bhagavan and prayed thus: O Bhagavan, if we act differently from the oath previously made and do not follow it, O Bhagavan, may we deceive the Tathagatas of the ten directions, may our bodies rot and emit a foul smell, may we be shattered into fifty pieces, may our oath be weakened, and may we also
