Wrap it in silk threads and cut along the path of the arrow. Wrap it around the nose and strike the mantra. Then begin the union of mantras. Offer the offering of dragon medicine nectar. In this way, everything desired can be accomplished. This is the method of all Buddhas. In the "King of Speculation Sutra, Stupa Chapter," the twenty-second chapter, entitled "Wheel (Sanskrit: chakra) Closure and Subjugation of Obstacles," ends. Then, Vajrapani Bodhisattva prayed: Alas, alas, compassionate Bhagavan, I do not know the ritual of long mantra offerings. Please tell me. Good, virtuous Vajrapani, I will explain it to you. You should also listen attentively with one mind. In general, the various activities of long mantras, because they are universally applicable, there is nothing better than them. Now I will specifically explain some. Then there is the ritual of the Wrathful King, using a sword, weapon, or stick, or a karavīra branch or willow. With the secret mantra of the Wrathful King, recite it one hundred and eight times, and place it well in a clean place. When hail comes, circumambulate the place where the hail is falling, etc. All the hail that falls beforehand will not fall within one yojana. Not to mention nearby. Or, for the unruly nagas, those nagas who send hail, wind, and malignant diseases, recite twenty-one times over a mixture of coarse ash, mustard seeds, and water, and sprinkle it in the house, and all sins will be cut off.
