The time when diseases arise is the four great seasons. The time of the three months of spring is the time when the disease of Bekan arises. The time of the three months of summer is the time when the disease of Lung arises. The time of the three months of autumn is the time when the disease of Tripa arises. The three months of winter is the time when the collective disease arises. The food of Bekan is rough. The food of Lung is oily. The food of Tripa and blood disease is sour and astringent. The food of the collective disease is balanced. For those who are troubled by Bekan disease, a basic bath should be used for treatment. For the newly acquired Bekan disease, from indigestion to pain, stomach cramps and diarrhea, stone therapy, hot springs, and haritaki medicinal oil should be applied. For old, undigested Bekan disease, when conditions ripen and cause pain, nausea, loss of appetite, and abdominal emptiness and pain, moxibustion should be performed on the Bekan Sea and the stomach opening. If this does not cure it, then haritaki, mallow seeds, and arura should be divided equally, put into warm water, and taken as a purgative. Apply a hot compress from the feet to the hair. Apply stone therapy from the anus. Apply bran hot compress from the head. This will eliminate all the diseases of Bekan black disease. For those whose bodies are stiffened by Bekan, who have a poor appetite, and whose bodies have become rough, taking dried ginger, white bean soup, and barley beer will eliminate it.
