May all understand and be clear! I am without inherent existence. By being free from elaboration, the expanse is broadened by grasping. Grasping at characteristics is my enemy. My own mind is Samantabhadra. If it does not appear with partiality and boundaries, then the thought of 'I' and 'mine' is delusion, the cause of falling into the lower realms. My own mind is good. There is no first or last Buddha. There is no good or bad in the cause. There is no accomplishment or non-accomplishment in the result. In the great happiness of the great leisure, suffering and danger constantly alternate. In the bliss of the equality of Dharma, what substance is there for grasping and apprehending thoughts? All the mandalas of the Buddhas completely abide in my means. From the tantra of the great Samantabhadra, the chapter on the means being inherently great is taught, this is the sixteenth chapter. Then, this inherently great wisdom is taught. Ultimate truth is without elaboration. The unwavering Dharma nature is without birth and death. This inherently great wisdom, there is no Buddha above it. Great wisdom in an instant, comprehends all phenomena. Because there is no birth, there is no cessation. Because there is no object, there is no elaboration. Not compounded, therefore the pure realm. Because there is no self-nature, it is beyond expression. Pervading all, it is the nature of the father. Generating all, it is the realm of the mother. In the inexpressible wisdom, clear is the samadhi without object. In the wisdom of the mother of the basis of all, arises the wisdom of self-arisen means. In the center of the uncompounded space, the wisdom of the king of mind dances. In the center of the space without birth and death, the one wisdom that is clear, is the king who has dominion over all, is the lord who has power over all play. Uninterruptedly, wisdom is also clear. Therefore, it eliminates all poisons, and by being free from all diseases, the nectar self-arisen mandala is clear. In the wisdom of the root mother, the connection is maintained by the lasso of means. The king of the elements is primordially pure. The mother who generates the Sugatas of the three times. The mother is the Prajnaparamita. In the vastness of non-birth and non-cessation, Samantabhadra is the vastness of the Dharmadhatu. Pure is the realm of great wisdom! Free from grasping, there is no knowing. Because there is no conceptualization, it is beyond speech and thought. Because it is inexpressible, it is like space. Because it is without self-nature, it is the Dharmadhatu. In the ten directions, the expanse is without end. Without inside or outside, it appears everywhere. Pure is

O spotless one! Appearance is without inherent existence, Like the moon in water, illusion, and mirage. It is not a mere absence, Nor is it truly existent. Transcending both existence and non-existence, It is remembered through the absence of inherent existence. The sign of realization through great wisdom, Is when equality abides like the sky. The sign of pervasion through great wisdom, Is the unmoving, equipoised, unconditioned state. The sign of accomplishment in great wisdom, Is when one acts without attachment through skillful means. The sign of attaining great wisdom. Whoever possesses great yoga, If you wish to understand great wisdom, Seek it from this chapter. From the Tantra of the Self-Abiding Great Samantabhadra, The Seventeenth Chapter: Wisdom's Primordial Greatness, is complete. Then, he spoke thus about the cause of faults being primordially great. Apart from the cause of faults, There is no Buddha to be found elsewhere. Even the arising of the supreme medicine, nectar, Comes from that which contains poison. Since poison does not contain the cause of medicine, All medicines would not have the name of medicine. Even the arising of all that is good, Is caused by faults bringing about goodness. Whatever sign of faults may arise, If you know that itself is goodness, Then you do not need to accomplish goodness elsewhere. If you understand that poison itself is the meaning of medicine, Then you do not need to seek nectar elsewhere. If you do not realize that faults are pure, And do not recognize the cause as the result, Then there is no meaning or definitive reason. Like a madman chasing after a shadow, Though chased, it cannot be reached or grasped. Likewise, because the cause of faults is not understood, Practice will not yield results, And examination will mistake the nature of reality for substance. Accomplishment will not appear as a sign, That itself is the nature of foolishness. Therefore, familiarize yourself with this meaning. Even bodhicitta is the cause of faults, All Buddhas are the cause of faults. If you do not understand this cause of faults, Then who possesses this cause of qualities? This cause of faults is ignorance, Ignorance is the treasury of the dharmadhatu. There is nothing greater than that. The cause of faults is the two, grasping and conceptualization. Grasping, conceptualization, skillful means, and wisdom, There is nothing greater than the cause of faults. The cause of faults is the five afflictions. When the afflictions appear as the five wisdoms, There is nothing greater than the cause of faults. The cause of faults is the two, permanence and annihilation. Permanence and annihilation
