In the absence of fabrication, from the gathering of the vast body, where is the lineage and sign shown? The Buddha is inherently great, existing but not a thing, like the moon in water, without self-nature. Non-existent, but not annihilation, like the realm of space, appearing in all ways. One, but not permanent, in the ultimate one, all is gathered. Two, but not separate, because pervading all, it is the vast body. Not clinging to directions, not distinguishing lineages, not dualistic, not clinging to self. Subtle in all, yet without doubt, harmonious with all, and in accordance with meaning. Knowing as self, and gathering others, is the Buddha's inherent greatness. The Buddha's inherent greatness is not sought, but realized, not achieved, not abiding, not elsewhere, but self-nature, not self-nature, not other, not other, not direction or lineage, not power, but blessing, not emanation, but the play of one skill. Afflictions do not appear, but the manner of gathering and dispersing, showing in all ways, yet not showing in all ways, however it appears, it is not in any place, however it is examined, there is nothing, not non-existent, but remembering and knowing, not becoming annihilation, but knowing and realizing, not becoming permanent, without things, not becoming dual, without permanence, not becoming one, pervading all. Because there is no cause for arising in the beginning, there is no death or change in the end. Now that things have no substance, there is no constant creation or grasping. Samsara is like an illusion, so happiness and suffering, good and bad, have no meaning in reality. Impermanent suffering is like a dream, whatever is examined is confused. By examination, there is not a single dharma, nor is it non-existent, only awareness. Water flows into the ocean, the Buddha arises from awareness itself. The Dharma is The Dharma of non-fabrication, the sign is the clear sign of non-mixture, the meaning is the meaning of non-change. Thus obtained, it is called Buddha, and it is said to be inherently great. If a yogi understands this, he is a Bhagavan, knowing and abiding in it. The Buddha is inherently great. Any yogi who understands the greatness of this Buddha should seek it in this chapter. From the Tantra of the Self-Abiding in the Greatness of Samantabhadra, the twentieth chapter, the Buddha's inherent greatness, is complete. Then, the Blessed One spoke of the inherent greatness of sentient beings. Before there were sentient beings, there was not even the name of Buddha.

Sentient beings are inherently great, This is the meaning to be explained. In the vastness of arising, the sky is vast, In the vastness of Dharmata, the Dharmic entity is vast. Since Buddhas arise from sentient beings, Therefore, sentient beings are the mother of Buddhas. Since all Buddhas arise from this, Therefore, sentient beings are the father of Buddhas. The Buddhas of the past, Were also the sentient beings of the past. The Buddhas who dwell now, Are also the sentient beings who dwell now. The Buddhas who will come in the future, Are also the sentient beings who will come in the future. Therefore, Buddhas are made by sentient beings, Even having become Buddhas, sentient beings are greater. Examining closely, all sentient beings are one, Sentient beings are one, which is the Dharmakaya. The Dharmakaya is also sentient beings. Examining sentient beings, there is no substance, Without substance, it is the Dharmadhatu. The Dharmadhatu is also sentient beings. Understanding sentient beings, one understands clearly, Understanding clearly is wisdom, Wisdom itself is also sentient beings. It is the source of all Buddhas, Therefore, Buddhas do not have sentient beings. Buddhas manifest various emanations, Therefore, sentient beings are the children of Buddhas. The body, speech, and mind of sentient beings in the three realms, The expanse of the three existences. Sentient beings of the six realms are the ultimate truth, Limitless sentient beings are the supreme of the path. Whoever knows the king of methods, That itself is the Dharmakaya of accomplished meaning. For the one who knows the meaning of unborn wisdom, That itself holds the uncreated instructions. For the sentient being of the self-born king, The king of awareness, clarity arises. The skandhas play in the great bindu, Spreading the bliss of complete purity. In the clarity of the sense bases' samadhi, Clearly showing the opening and closing of methods. As the example is shown, Likewise, sentient beings are shown as examples, The instructions of great bliss arise. Examining with purity, everything is pure, Thinking with realization, anything can be accomplished. In the vast sky of view, Due to the spreading of light without grasping thoughts, Nothing is abandoned, naturally accomplished. In limitless wisdom, Due to the spreading of the expanse of no birth, Know in the completely pure Dharmadhatu. Unappeared, unborn, without birth, Establishing the term "unborn" as a label, Like grasping at the illusory sky. Since these do not appear as signs, Those with small wisdom become confused. Even if possessing words, they stray from the meaning, Confidence in the instructions is completely lacking.
