Ati is liberated in the meaning itself. Sectarian attachments are mere fabrications of the mind. Comfort lies in being unabandoned and unmixed. Fabricated terms are beautiful as play. Actions with signs are great spectacles. Kriya without abandonment is the ornament of Dzogchen. There is no certainty in the realm of the mind. Exhausting the realm of mind does not lead to Buddhahood. For a person who has not realized Ati, the views and meditations of the eight vehicles are merely taught as a means of guidance. They are only temporary fruits of happiness. Various methods of abandonment, transformation, and purification, along with diverse mental activities, will they ever deceive the Buddha of aspirations? Buddhas attained through practice do not become Buddhas. In Ati, the vast expanse that encompasses all, the natural state of reality is self-manifest, without calculation. Going or not going, it is the expanse of self-liberation. Staying or speaking, it is the expanse of self-liberation. Eating or drinking, it is the expanse of self-liberation. Who can understand this great secret teaching? It does not stray from the state of Samantabhadra. Shravakas speak of the arising of suffering. This is not a definitive teaching. Suffering is transformed into great bliss in the primordial purity. I have determined this in the vast expanse. Abandonment and negation are self-liberated, setting the measure of benefit. Kriya speaks of impermanence and suffering. This is what is determined by it. In the play of indivisible spontaneous presence, I establish certainty in the vast expanse. Appearances are self-liberated in their own place, without arising. In Ati, the vast expanse of space, the energy of the nine vehicles is merely the vessel and its contents. Having abandoned acceptance and rejection, hope and doubt, the practice of the nine aspects is determined. Kriya, which emphasizes action, is bound by the knots of the four purities. Pure appearances are the three families of deities. Forms are seen as Manjushri, sounds as Avalokiteshvara, and thoughts as Vajrapani. Self, benefactor, substance, and samadhi are bound by the knots of the three purities. They are viewed as master and servant, above and below. Ati does not negate both good and bad. It does not abide, does not cling, and is not cut off in expansion. In the equality that is pervasive, the view of good and bad is the demon of attachment. In Ati, which is free from good and bad, both arise and are self-liberated. In Ati, without practice and without abandoning Kriya, the absence of negation and affirmation is beautiful as the ornament of Dzogchen. Having said this, he remained naked, free from attachment and clinging. From the tantra of the vast and boundless expanse, the essence of all vehicles, the chapter on the perfection of Kriya without abandonment, the single root chapter, is complete. Samaya. Gya Gya Gya. Again, Vajrasattva asked, "Please explain how the distinctions of the Upaya tenets are perfected in Ati."

The Teacher replied: Listen, assembled retinue, I will explain. Upaya has four aspects: view, samadhi, conduct, and result. The view is in accordance with yoga, considering that in ultimate reality there is no arising or ceasing. Samadhi is in accordance with yoga, being the five aspects of manifest enlightenment. Conduct is in accordance with kriya, primarily focusing on cleanliness and bathing at meal times. The result, from five to seven lifetimes, is the attainment of the Vajradhara ground of the five families. Upaya is the vehicle of doubt. Ah! Listen, courageous Vajra Power. In the Great Perfection, the primordial expanse without depth or limit, the grounds and paths, the definitive view, conduct, and diligence, are all complete in the state of original liberation, without abandonment or cultivation. Upaya is the vehicle of abandoning, cultivating, and clinging. Ati is the vehicle of doubt, abandoning and attaining liberation in its own place. The ground arises as self-liberation, blissful in the nature of the dharmadhatu. Upaya is non-abandonment, the ornament of the Great Perfection. Ati is non-cultivation, the five poisons as ornaments. Vast, so great, is the mind of awareness, equal to space. There is no abandonment or attainment, in the sphere of the single bindu. Self-liberation! There is no realization or non-realization. The nature of liberation in non-duality, for the lower vehicles, is an impossible possibility. The ease with which a donkey climbs a rock, is impossible for other beings, but possible for it. Awareness liberated in the realm of non-action, is impossible for those of the lesser vehicles who exert effort, but the yogi is blissful in the realm of space-like non-action. The awareness of primordial Buddhahood has no place, wandering in samsara is impossible, the primordial expanse is vast. The upaya of desiring objects and conceptual minds, is self-liberated in space, complete in the realm of no support. In the single bindu vehicle without edges, the appearance of duality is impossible, the force of possibility also descends. One and different The mind that clings is deluded. Liberated in oneness! Liberated in the realm of non-action. In the self-born wisdom without cause or condition, the arising of the five poisons is impossible, the force of possibility. The upaya of abandoning and obstructing this, is liberated in the womb of self-born, self-liberated wisdom. In spontaneous accomplishment, without direction or limit, directional bias and limitation are impossible, the force of possibility. The upaya of clinging to the edge of directional views, is liberated without direction! Liberated in the realm of spontaneous accomplishment. In the awareness without manifest signs, without cessation, the arising of appearances is impossible, the force of possibility. The upaya of appearances, permanence, annihilation, and doubt, is self-liberated! Certain.
