Practicing the three aspects of the Sutra, it teaches the ground of generation, the ground of practice, and the ground of accomplishment as three. In the ground of generation, generate the four minds; in the ground of practice, practice the ten mental activities; in the ground of accomplishment, desire accomplishment. It is taught only from the perspective of the appearance of others, but I have not taught the purity of self-appearance. Practice the ten virtues and abandon non-virtue. Dzogchen is merely establishing cause and effect. In reality, whether you practice abandonment or not, there is not even a difference of a mote of dust. The novice monk's 250 precepts and the fully ordained monk's 550 precepts, etc., when guarding them, one does not know the number and meaning. One cannot keep the vows, there is no way to guard them. On top of conceptualization, one adds more conceptualization; on top of confusion, one adds more confusion; on top of a rope, one ties a snare. Dzogchen transcends all that is to be guarded. The unerring Longchen has no object to be guarded. The path of accumulation and the path of joining, the path of seeing and the path of meditation, and the path of culmination, are definitely liberated from the path of Dzogchen. There is no attainment of the fruit of merit. It is merely relying on the upright deity. One does not get lost in the eight vehicles on the path. One does not seek the Dharmakaya in oneself. Cause and effect are inherent, there is no striving or accomplishment. Thus, the teacher, myself, has three aspects of taming and teaching. All the dharmas of words and symbols are mistakenly regarded as pure with undifferentiated ignorance. It is confused by separately modifying me. My own mind is confused by doubt, having too much hope for the nature of reality, having too much doubt about samsara, and being confused by hoping for help from other Buddhas, seeing nine and not knowing oneself, being confused like a bee searching for a hive. Being bound by the effort of doing, being confused like an elephant sinking in the mud. Being confused by the power of effort and hope, being confused like using the wrong medicine for a disease. Holding what is not that as that, being confused like seeing mirages as water. The thought of existence arises where there is none, being confused like a distant friend dying. Striving and accomplishment going astray is confused like a child playing with a razor. Self-arisen wisdom has no characteristics. If you look at it with good and bad partiality, it is confused. Grasping what is not self as self, if there is mind-holding, contemplation, it is confused. Seeing a palace in the light is like flakes of flour and a butter lamp. Being deceived by the power of hoping for accomplishments is like a monkey falling into a well. On the self-arisen wisdom of no-self, grasping as self with the power of a person, teaching whatever is pleasing to appearance.

They all arise from my compassion. May you understand the vast meaning. Even the vast and inconceivable must be divided into nine categories. Thus it is said. From the Tantra of the General Essence of the Great Expanse, the sixteenth chapter, which explains the categories. Samaya. Seal, seal, seal. Then Vajrasattva, again asked the Teacher: Ah! Perfectly complete Great Radiance, all-pervading, vast, and glorious. Even if you only briefly explain the differences, what are the tenets of the first gods, humans, and those with wrong views? What is the way to complete them? What is the way to adorn them without abandoning them? The Teacher spoke of the radiance of awareness to the assembly. The Teacher heard this request. Kyeho! Listen, all you assembled ones. My nine vehicles, the way of teaching is cyclic existence and nirvana. The tenets of cyclic existence itself are transformation and non-transformation by mind. Non-transformation has two aspects: ordinariness and rejection. Those who do not know the true nature of cause and effect are placed in ordinariness. Those who know the true nature and reject it, engaging in crafts and medicine for this life, are said to be rejectors. Transformation by mind is either the right path or the wrong path. The wrong path has two aspects: the extremists and the nihilists. These have essence, definition, and distinctions. The essence is the inverted wisdom that clings to inversion. The definition is the extreme of bad views, the support of bad conduct. The distinctions are three hundred and sixty, sixty heaps of destructive views, twenty-five Samkhyas, twenty clinging to external self, ten clinging to specific self, six Tirthikas, and four transformed views. In summary, they are included in the two extremes of permanence and annihilation. The way of counting is to destroy them all at once. The tenet of annihilation is like this: cause is annihilated, effect is annihilated, like space. They think everything is ordinary. The tenet of permanence is the nature of mind in the form of a bindu, white, clear, oily, and cohesive, within the heart, they see it as existing from the beginning, unchanging. The result is born into the retinue of power. Each has its own desired doctrine. Ema! Listen, Vajrasattva. All tenets are the minds of individuals, and are not close to the nature of things. Although obscured by veils and tormented by suffering, they are certain to be destroyed without wisdom. Ignorance and lack of understanding are the wrong path. Inner and outer, permanence and annihilation, existence and non-existence, are not contradictory and fall into the nature of the sphere of reality. The nature of effort and accomplishment is achieved. Clinging to this is conceptualization.
