One focuses on the cessation of the continuous stream of existence. The meaning is not to be inverted. The supreme of unspoken samadhi is practiced. This nature of true meaning. One does not take anything, does not abide, One does not hear anything, there is no hearing, One does not do anything, is free from doing, One does not appear as anything, that is, This is the supreme of appearances. This nature of the unthinkable, The unthinkable remains as it is. On the nature of non-existence, The mind's movement in an instant, Unwavering, constantly remember. Thus it is said. Request. Is it good to focus on and remember the stake of bodhicitta everywhere? Answer: What is to be meditated is not meditation, What is to be clarified is without object, Thus, whatever is meditated by the mind, In essence, the mind meditates, the supreme of samadhi. Thus it is said. Request. Why should the stake of bodhicitta abide without thought? Answer: On the nature of non-appearance, The mind with knowing intellect does not change, This meaning that shows equality, The imputation of meaningful emptiness is not attached. The unmade nature is peaceful, The one with knowledge, free from the concept of characteristics, If one does not focus even on mere non-existence, How can grasping at arising feelings change? All non-abiding bodhicitta, Although not attained by searching, Like awakening from an illusion and being confused, The essence of wisdom, free from elaboration, abides. If there is no meditation and nothing to be meditated on, Then abiding happily in the essential state, That is also called meditating on bodhicitta. Thus it is said. Request. Why does the stake of bodhicitta, which is without an object of mind, abide in the mind? Answer: Great Vajra Assembly, When abiding in the essence of bodhi, There is no object of emptiness in the dharma of emptiness, therefore it does not abide. Bodhicitta has no cause for accomplishing bodhi, therefore it does not abide. Do not hold two streams of mind for beings. That is, one does not focus on the unarisen name. Since there is no mind other than that, What is there to fabricate and abide in? Just as the sky has no maker, Therefore, the sky itself does not become meditation, Of the unarisen mind by nature, How can the unarisen itself become meditation? The meaning of non-conformity and equality is inseparable, Whoever knows this, having abandoned all effort, In great equanimity, unmade.

If you remain, it is said to be merely verbal meditation. Thus it was said. Question: When meditating on the stake of bodhicitta, how should one avoid the faults of samadhi? Answer: If you follow after the arising of thoughts, you will wander in samsara. If you stop the movement of thoughts, that is cessation itself. If you are foolish without thoughts, you will become a heretic or darkness. If you hold onto one thing in your mind, saying "this," that is a mountain of conceptualization. If there is no before or after and it is cut off, that is the darkness of annihilation. From the meaning of the ground, even for a moment, whatever moves, arises, or ceases, if from that, mindfulness increases, and the thought of seeking the path arises, the types of paths will increase and change, how could nature become the path? The great fault of falling is the six types of distraction of signs. Distraction to the nature of objects, as well as distraction to illness and signs, as well as attention and bad circumstances. If these are made very clear, when one is equally placed on the meaning, there will be five faults that obscure the meaning of equality. These five are: distraction by the power of feeling, dullness by the power of drowsiness, cessation by the power of attachment, the sixth by the power of persistence, and disappearance by the power of recklessness. These are the faults of equanimity. Remaining attached to the enjoyment of the bliss of samadhi is the nature of existence and non-existence, cause and path, view. Therefore, if you meditate on the place of attachment, then peace will not transcend the suffering of the earth. The mind does not abide in anything, nor does it focus on anything, it should be known. Eliminating the faults of abiding and focusing in the mind lies in subtle mental grasping. If there is no mind like a mirage, then who will do the non-abiding and non-focusing? If you do not understand the nature of space, then meditation is not meaningful. If you think that there is some profound non-conceptuality, appearing as an object of consciousness, then experiencing the experience of profound non-conceptuality, because it is an experience, it is not that itself. Thus it was said. Question: If you understand the stake of bodhicitta in this way and then practice it, why is it not necessary to practice the skills of the lower vehicles? Answer: The bodhicitta of all Buddhas is unsurpassed and will arise in the future. Whatever wisdom the Victorious Ones have spoken is said to be the essence of the mandala. Focusing on that is
