It should be done like this. The day and night stick is thirty during the day and thirty during the night, totaling sixty. The four are increase and decrease. The moon increases by two and decreases by two, totaling four. If it flows outward from the right nostril, it increases, and if it flows inward from the left nostril, it decreases. In one day, the wind shifts sixteen times from half a period. Sixty-four sticks in one day are half the amount of a water clock. An hour means two sticks. There are thirty-two hours in a day. One period is four hours. In the middle month of spring, when the day and night are short or equal, the four periods have equal sticks. One stick has three hundred breaths plus sixty. Two such sticks make an hour. Four hours make one period. On other days when day and night have passed, they change to decrease and increase. For example, in the middle month of winter, the night has thirty-six sticks, and the day has twenty-four sticks. Likewise, in the last month of winter, the night has thirty-four, and the day has twenty-six. Thus, each month, subtracting two from the night and adding it to the day, the day and night are equal in the middle of spring, which is thirty. From the end of spring, adding two to the day and subtracting it from the night, the middle of summer has thirty-six days and twenty-four nights. Doing addition and subtraction like this, the middle of autumn has equal day and night, both being thirty. The increase and so on of such sixteen transformations are the nature of wind. Wind is also the nature of arising and dissolving, so transformation and so on are spoken of. This is what Vishvamitra accepts. In general, the shift of the year is a shift of twelve years. The shift of the month is emptiness. It becomes twelve months. The shift of the day is day and night. Three hundred and sixty days. The shift of the sun is the time of the winter and summer solstices. The shift of the planets is from the fifteenth day. The shift of the body is birth and death. The shift of the mind is becoming a Buddha. Having taken it like this, in general, the number of breaths is that the four elements of earth, water, fire, and wind have four periods. Four days and four nights, divided into two each, make eight. From the eight, with earth as the main one, dividing into the wheels of water, fire, and wind, there are three.

Dividing into three makes twenty-four. Among these, the movement of wind is two thousand seven hundred. Each of the twenty-four is further divided into four elements: earth, water, fire, and wind, making ninety-six. In these, the movement of breath is two hundred and twenty-five. Among these, any one day and night has four periods. One "phrugs" is four days and four nights, totaling eight. Each one is pressed with three "'khor," making twenty-four. Each of these is further divided into four, making ninety-six. Time and "dbyug gu" are sixty-four. What is grasped as above is: sixteen time transitions, or twelve zodiacal houses. That is also eight times two, sixteen transitions. Count "dbyug gu" sixty-four. Thirty-two hours. Four major periods. Eight half periods. So, are these repetitions? Because it is realization, it is considered repetition. Bliss, semen, emptiness are represented by (ཨཿ,Sanskrit Devanagari: अ,Sanskrit Romanization: ah, Literal meaning: Ah). Method and wisdom are conventional truth, residing in the body. That is, knowing desire as bliss is method, knowing bliss as emptiness is wisdom, recognizing oneself is said to be conventional truth. Without the distinction of conventional truth, how is it in the place shown? The bliss of the body dissolving into emptiness, bliss and emptiness being inseparable is ultimate truth, conventional truth inseparable. That is, the bindu of the body diminishes in conventional truth, but knowing emptiness with sixteen vowels (ཨཱ་ལི་བཅུ་དྲུག), so conventional truth dissolves into emptiness, residing in the deity, so conventional truth has no self-nature. How does it abide and manifest? It is abiding upright, the so-called time transition Sanskrit Romanization: samkrāntanta, Literal meaning: transition) sixteen. Wind moves from left to right eight times, from right to left eight times, that is sixteen. In each of the sixteen transitions, the wind is one thousand three hundred and fifty, and five thousand eight hundred runs in each half period. That is, from the right, the sun's fire wind generates smoke, and from the left, the moon's water wind brings auspiciousness. The sun burns, and the moon nourishes. The nostrils enter from the left and exit from the right, thus determining half a period. The movement of the sun's wind is called day, and the movement of the moon's wind is called night, which is nourishment. Moving from left to right eight times, moving from right to left eight times, eight times two is sixteen. The sixteen vowels are completely purified, and the special pulse of bliss and emptiness runs in the body.
