One should observe oneself and practice. First, the other two are pure. These that should be abandoned are: the sense faculties are naturally restrained, and even when afflicted by the suffering of obstructed desires, samadhi is not attained, because the blessings of the Buddhas draw near, therefore it becomes a vessel for meditation. This is called practicing individually. Therefore, enjoying bliss is also called abandoning individually. Abandoning what becomes a distraction of desire. Abandoning individually is the samadhi of abiding in discipline. Dhyana is related to the object and has limbs to be focused on. Through dhyana, from desires and sins, unwholesome dharmas, it arises from solitary places. Therefore, after this, dhyana is explained with reason. The object of dhyana is body, speech, and mind, taking the three secrets as the object. Among them, the secret of the body is: the mudra of the deity, the form body, color, shape, and movement, eyebrows, eyes, teeth, and lips, face, body, and limbs, lotus, great power, auspicious marks, accomplishing self-benefiting activities. That is through the various forms of the body, focusing as the object of dhyana. Among them, the secret of speech is: distinguishing sound and non-sound, the hidden A (藏文:ཨ,梵文天城体:अ,梵文罗马拟音:a,汉语字面意思:阿), the vajra speech, on the heart of the deity, on the tip of the tongue, contemplating the letters, colors, and shapes of the scriptures, and through the sound and the meaning of the sound, examining the nature of reality, examining and analyzing. This is the cause of attaining dhyana, the dhyana that abides in sound, is the yoga that should be attained. Abiding at the edge of sound, dhyana gives liberation. Uttering sounds from the mouth, through the mainly explained dhyana, here it becomes a cause of distraction. Among them, the secret of mind is: visualizing Vajrasattva in the heart, visualizing Jñanasattva, that is the sign of the mind. Its meaning is bodhicitta, abiding in the dharmakaya, distinguishing the signs, that is the nature of the mind. Like this, focusing on the three luminosities, is the object of dhyana. The three secrets encompass everything, the mudras are completely pure, the deities gather the meaning and the manner of symbols. The five limbs of dhyana, namely the two of investigation and analysis, and the two of joy and bliss, one-pointedness of mind is the fifth. The manner of the limbs.

Focus on that (La) as the object of attention. On the nature of the three secrets, The wisdom that realizes as it is, Arises after realizing that. To practice that is, To repeatedly train in that very thing with intelligence, And with its meaning and what it possesses, To examine closely again and again, To practice and enter. To rejoice in that is, From the samadhi of investigation and analysis, Because of obtaining, the three secrets', Similar appearances arise distinctly, At that time, one who is free from desire, The meaning that has never been experienced before, Because of experiencing, becomes the uncommon, A great joy arises. To be happy in that is, When that power of mind is gathered and obtained, The happiness of body and mind, That will be experienced. To have one-pointedness of mind in that is, Thus, because of the mind's gathering and transformation, Neither the knower nor the known, Appear as duality, But become merely self-awareness. This is the samadhi called dhyana. Thus, with these dhyanas, The mind is to be pacified, For the sake of being extremely tamed, The breath is also to be stopped and released. Taking the method of training as a disease, Signs, mantras, and inner and outer marks, Because they appear to the yogi, It is extremely important to train. In that, how to train in the method, Male breath, female breath, and, Neither male nor female breath, Training in these three aspects, Abiding outwardly and entering inwardly, Training in abiding in the abdomen, Earth breath, water breath, fire breath, and, Training in the breath of breath, The order of training also appears in many ways, No matter how you train, there is no contradiction. Although the thoughts of those to be tamed are countless, Nevertheless, so many methods of taming are explained, It has not been said to be different from the meaning of one. After that, subduing the thoughts of the mind, When the breath becomes peaceful and stable, For the sake of being endowed with realization, In the breath that wanders indeterminately, You should train in the inner form. After that, again holding the breath, The mind also becomes extremely peaceful, Because of obtaining stability, The five signs will arise. First, like a mirage, Second, like the appearance of smoke, Third, like a firefly, Fourth, burning like a butter lamp, Fifth, appearing as a sign, Like a cloudless sky. Its signs are two, outer and inner, Outwardly, it appears as day and night.
