Beings who experience various forms of karma and its results are generated by the twelve links of dependent origination. Like the wheel of a chariot, they revolve without interruption or beginning. Therefore, it is impossible to determine the beginning and end of samsara in general. However, from a specific perspective, we can take the time when extremely wrathful and cruel beings appeared as a nearby boundary. From them and their descendants, and the seven generations, hundreds, thousands, and so on of their descendants, until now, they have become countless. The decrease, increase, and extinction from their lineage have also become uncountable and immeasurable. Thus, being separated by many such things is the passing away of beings. The passing away of the teachings is: At that time, the world's lamps who appeared, descended from the Tushita heaven, took birth in this Jambudvipa, displayed youthful play and marriage, renounced the household and manifested enlightenment, turned the wheel of Dharma, passed into nirvana and left relics, the teachings remained to tame beings, the teachings declined, and similarly, the Buddhas who appeared in succession were also separated by countless numbers. This is the passing away of the teachings. In such times, to tell the stories of countless beings and teachings that occurred before the past era is called "events of the past era." Since time, beings, and teachings have occurred countless times before the past, what is it that we now want to clearly tell, separated by many things such as moments? It is what is called "self-nature." How can the great self-nature be known and understood in a constant way? There are six points to this: Because it abides in the great self-nature of all samsara and nirvana, its nature does not change and is constant. Second, because it abides in the great self-nature of the indivisibility of the dharmadhatu and wisdom, it is constant in the nature of the three kayas. Third, because it abides in the great self-nature of the union of skillful means and wisdom, it possesses the perfect qualities of the mundane and supramundane, and is constant.

Fifth, the fourth dwells in the great essence that is inseparable from characteristics and the lack of characteristics, and because it dwells in the nature of possessing four forms, it is constant. Fifth, although the body, speech, and mind dwell in the great essence that is like a vajra, undifferentiated and indivisible, it continuously demonstrates actions like illusions from the three doors. The intention and conduct of benefiting others through activities endowed with sacred qualities is constant. Sixth, although it dwells in the state of the great essence without characteristics, it benefits others through the aspect of characteristics, therefore it is constant. These also arise from clinging to only permanence. In the teachings of the Tathagata: There are two Tathagatas. The outer is the Tathagata because it has gone to Suchness. Because the wisdom of awareness goes to the Dharmadhatu as it is, and realizes the meaning of the nature of reality as it is, it is the Tathagata. According to the inner view, just as the world path of desire is the semen and blood born of desire, and the aggregation of causes such as গন্ধর্ব্ব (Gandharva, celestial musician) and close relatives results in the formation of the body, similarly, from the union of the father and mother, the inseparable method and wisdom, the white and red Bodhicitta, from which the Buddhas who have perfected the two accumulations are born, hence they are called Tathagatas. The scriptures are the three Pitakas of characteristics, the three outer Tantras, and the three inner Tantras, etc., which are to be understood and realized by glorious Heruka. The term "la" refers to a teacher like the Tathagata, who expounds the scriptures with the Dharma wheel of the Buddhas, from which the disciple, the black monk, arose from viewing the great essence as permanent. When did it happen? It happened in the past. Who arose? The black monk arose. What was the cause? It arose from viewing the great essence as permanent. What was the condition? It arose from the wrong instruction on the teachings of the Tathagata. It happened previously in the manner of beings. At that time, all sentient beings. How did it happen? When the teachings of glorious Heruka were subdued. Although it is said that all sentient beings, the beings referred to are those who are subdued by its teachings. The way of those beings is to enter into meaning or the attainment of meaning.
