Not becoming a Buddha. By the very act of guarding generosity, accumulate the collection of merit, meditate on the Dharma. Thus abiding in equanimity, attain the fruit of Buddhahood. By meditating on the conditioned, attain the unconditioned. Appearance itself is emptiness. Abide in its nature. Thus meditating, one becomes a Buddha. Thus it is said. From the Tantra of the Play of the Supreme Steed, the chapter on meditating on the Perfection of Generosity, the one hundred and sixteenth. Lord of Speech, listen well! The Perfection of Discipline is the clear instruction on the object of meditation. By the merit of guarding discipline, one obtains conformity with the form body. All that is grasped and not grasped, enters the ocean of omniscience. Like a wish-fulfilling jewel, it nourishes all sentient beings. Endowed with a collection of virtues. In ultimate truth, the mind neither abides within, nor abides without, nor is it perceived as neither. The past mind is not perceived, nor is the future mind perceived. When the mind arises, it does not come from anywhere; when it ceases, it does not go anywhere. The mind of enlightenment abides in an unconditioned state. Thus it is said. From the Tantra of the Play of the Supreme Steed, the chapter on meditating on the Perfection of Discipline, the one hundred and seventeenth. Lord of Speech, now listen! The Perfection of Patience is to abide in the nature of patience. All these cycles of existence are impermanent. All these phenomena of cyclic existence are of the nature of non-conceptualization. In ultimate truth, they are devoid of conceptualization. Meditation is of two types: śamatha and vipaśyanā. Sinking, agitation, scattering, and wavering are the four. The meaning of these four is to be known. Śamatha is abiding in equanimity, and vipaśyanā is seeing with wisdom. Thus, meditate in its nature. Thus it is said. From the Tantra of the Play of the Supreme Steed, the chapter on meditating on the Perfection of Patience, the one hundred and eighteenth. Then again, Lord of Speech, listen! The Perfection of Diligence is in the teaching of its fruit. By practicing and meditating with intense diligence, one is truly liberated from the limits of cyclic existence. Abandoning the enemies of sinking and agitation, one enters well into equanimity. Thus, by meditating, the fruit, the nature of reality, arises spontaneously without being sought. Thus it is said. From the Tantra of the Play of the Supreme Steed
