I have not seen the true wisdom, When wandering in the Bardo, Showing the essential meaning of the Bardo, That is, the classification of the Bardo and, The boundaries, abiding, and manifestation, The Bardo of the birth place, the dying, The Bardo, and the Dharmata, The Bardo, the Bardo of existence, etc., Thus, there are four types of divisions. Among them, the boundary of the Bardo is, From birth in the mother's womb until death, Until afflicted by illness, It is called the Bardo of the birth place. From the outside in, the four elements gradually dissolve, Until the inner breath ceases, It is the Bardo of the dying moment. From the cessation of the inner breath, Until the spontaneous appearance, It is the boundary of the Dharmata Bardo. From that time until entering the womb, It is the boundary of the Bardo of existence. Thus, the abiding of the Bardo is, Because of the body of flesh and blood with obstacles, The manifestation of wisdom ceases. The aggregates, elements, and sources, and, The thoughts are chaotic and many gather, The object and the subject fight each other, It is the abiding of the Bardo of the birth place. The gathering of wind, bile, phlegm, etc., The dharmas arising from the illness of death, Extremely disturbed, body, speech, and mind, Experience immeasurable suffering. It is the abiding of the Bardo of dying. Clinging to the self and what belongs to the self, The support of the aggregate body is abandoned, When freedom is obtained from one's own nature, In an instant, the true meaning of Dharmata is seen. Enjoying in the Dharmata Bardo, It is the abiding of the Dharmata Bardo. Due to past habits and karma, The body of existence seems to have a form, The senses are complete and without obstacles, Unobstructed movement in all realms, The consciousness is like a feather blown by the wind, Searching for fragrance, eating fragrance, smelling fragrance, and drinking fragrance. It is the abiding of the Bardo of existence. The manifestation arising from the abiding is, In the manifestation of the Bardo of the birth place, From the state of abiding in its own nature, The aggregates, elements, and sources, and, All dharmas such as afflictions, All appear from the object and cling to it. The manifestation of the Bardo of dying is also, Because the awareness cannot focus on one object, Like a mirage, it is unsteady, Appearing confused and chaotic, Extremely shaking and flickering. In the manifestation of the Dharmata Bardo, The realm of self-manifesting Dharmata play, The self-power is not extinguished and appears in various ways, The light of various colors burning, The deities and wisdom bindus, and, The rays and the self-sound of Dharmata, etc., The roaring sound

Inconceivable is the liberation of mind. Opening and dissecting, self-liberation is itself. Having self-arisen and liberated, truth is seen. In the way of appearance in the Bardo of Existence, Like the appearance of a dream itself, Various kinds of wavering and flickering, The realm of mind appears as truth. In whichever of the six realms one is born, The appearance of that realm arises. Each with its own object, The appearance of the attraction and gathering of karma. Thus, also in the intermediate state, The best, the middling, the worst, and the very worst, The individuals who practice diligently seize the essence of the path, From the very place of birth, distinctions are made. Certainly, the appearances of delusion, Are seized by the wisdom's own power of recognition. For the best, immediate liberation; for the middling, release; For the worst, holding one's own ground; For the very worst, practicing great aspiration and power. Even by holding onto leaping and walking, With unwavering samadhi, Whatever one is accustomed to, that will be accomplished. The great confidence of certain fruit, To seize it in an instant is most precious. From the heart-essence, the vast expanse of space, of all the Gurus, Deities, and Dakinis, the thirtieth chapter, the Teaching on the Bardo, is complete. The teaching on the essence of practice, Arising from causes and conditions, Purifying the obscurations of karma, With the body, entrust the body itself. With speech, imprison speech itself. With mind, settle the mind itself. Collectively, settle the three doors on the ground. With the samadhi of great certainty, Cherish the Guru with unwavering devotion, Subdue the mind and meditate on impermanence. Generate altruistic intention and cut off selfishness. Cut the bonds of attachment to desirable qualities, Abandon habitual tendencies and manifest clinging to distraction. Hold onto the remembrance and contemplation of the nature of reality, wisdom. Let whatever arises rest in the state of non-thought. By expanding the three spheres as they arise, Manifest enlightenment in the very space of primordiality. The fruit is naturally and spontaneously accomplished. The meaning of uncreated vastness, Is to utterly subdue the great earth. From the heart-essence, the vast expanse of space, of all the Gurus, Deities, and Dakinis, the thirty-first chapter, the Teaching on the Essence of Practice, is complete. From the fruit of karma in lifetimes, By the power of purification that exhausts the darkness, The Great Seal of Self-Liberation is taught. Dwelling The Great Seal of the Ground of Reality, Its essence is unmoving and unchanging, The unimpeded play of all varieties, Like the moon in water, reflections in a mirror, Appear without effort or grasping. The space from the beginning without obscuration, The all-illuminating, vast, pervasive, great light.
