Here, in the four directions, four intermediate directions, eight directions, and the ten directions of above and below, upon the subjugation of the protectors of the directions, upon the surface piled with jewels, like a polished illusionary mirror, clearly and distinctly abiding. All the darkness of ignorance vanishes in an instant, and the clear light of wisdom spreads in the ten directions. Then, from the heart of the assembled wrathful Vajra of hatred, the wrathful ones accomplished by aspiration emanate as ten Hums (ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum), and proclaim thus: Those who terrify with great burning forms, from them extract ten wrathful ones, upon the sun mandala generated from Hum (ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum), the upper body with three faces and six arms, the lower body as an iron phurba with three edges. In the mandala of the ten directions, in each direction, abide in order. In order to destroy all obstacles, with a majestic voice proclaim, and strike with the phurba. Standing tall with a majestic demeanor, blazing flames, hair standing on end, abiding in unbearable burning terror. Having said this, bless the ten Hums (ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanization: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) with three rituals, reciting: Om Yamantaka Krita Vajra Mahakrodha Hum Phat (ཨོཾ་ཡ་མཱནྟ་ཀྲྀཏ་བཛྲ་མ་ཧཱ་ཀྲོ་དྷ་ཧཱུཾ་ཕཊ, Devanagari: ॐ यमान्तकृत् वज्र महाक्रोध हुं फट्, Romanization: oṃ yamāntakṛt vajra mahākrodha hūṃ phaṭ, Literal meaning: Om, Yamantaka, Vajra, Great Wrath, Hum, Phat), invoking with the mantra of the arising cause. Upon the male and female Indra of the eastern direction, the wrathful Yamantaka. Yamantaka. To the north is the King of Desire. To the northeast is the Great Power. Below is the All-Victorious One of the Three Realms or the Lotus Swirl. Above is Humkara. These ten great wrathful deities all have three faces and six arms. Their body color, hand implements, ornaments, attire, and so on, appear as they are described in the treasury. They reside above the ten direction protectors and their retinues in a playful lion posture. The King of Wrath again, from above, commands Humkara, handing over the hammer and hook, and proclaims that the wrathful deities of the ten directions should each obtain a stake. Humkara similarly commands Nectar Swirl. Nectar Swirl likewise takes the hammer and hook and speaks these words of command: HUM! By these wrathful kings, subdue all obstacles and destroy them. The wise and skillful one should establish all the stakes according to the ritual. The Vajra Nectar Swirl, the Vajra stake itself abides, resembling the color of a blue lotus, with a garland of blazing light intertwined. From the navel downwards, all the implements should be visualized as the tip of the stake. Like the wrathful deity of the upper body, it also has three faces and six arms, placing the assembly of obstacles below. Its mantra should be recited, and after establishing it with the Vajra stake, the body of the obstacle will not move elsewhere. After reciting this, the wrathful Yama's enemy seizes the waist with the hook, and striking the topknot with the hammer, the lower iron stake turns to ashes on the sun disc, piercing the hearts of all obstacles such as Indra and Gandharvas, male and female. Thus, after establishing it in the ten directions above and below, the hammer and hook are handed over to the Wrathful Vajra. Again, abiding in the north as before, the Wrathful Vajra commands Humkara, generating the syllable HUM in the upper direction. Humkara descends from above, takes the hammer and hook, and hands them over to Nectar Swirl in the north as before, striking the teacher with the hammer.
