The four are from the beginning manifestly enlightened Buddhas. The intention and conduct of the four gatekeepers are also like that. The four gate mothers, please listen and consider. The four extremes of permanence and annihilation are from the beginning manifestly enlightened Buddhas. Lacking wisdom, I have erred under the influence of ignorance; due to the karma of afflictions, I have abandoned the Yidam deities; influenced by deception, I have disparaged the Guru from the depths of my heart; due to arrogance and pride, I have disrupted Dharma friends and siblings; by carelessly flaunting, I have spread secret mantras to others; due to stinginess, offerings have been made past their due time; due to the faults of bad companions, secret rituals have been broken; due to small vows, obstacles and demons have not been overcome; and arrogance, stubbornness, leftover offerings being impure, and so on. From the beginningless time of past lives, until taking this body in this life, up to the present moment, whatever sins and non-virtuous deeds I have committed, please, you who know the times and understand the times, forgive me. Because you are noble beings, please accept my confession. Because we are sentient beings, we have faults and mistakes. Because everything is like illusion, please grant forgiveness for our confession. Because you are skilled in means, please grant us purification. Thus it was said. Then, all the great father and mother lords of Yoga who came from the ten directions spoke this confession to the peaceful assembly of deities. Samantabhadra, the precious essence of mind, is the father who controls the three realms, and the mother who gathers everything into the true realm of reality.
