Filled with beautiful and majestic rocks, the mountain resembles a pile of precious jewels. Such are the peaks, surrounded by delightful snow mountains. Extremely delightful and pleasing, a place to practice the Vajra Mandala. Grassy caves and delightful mountains, practiced by the Sugatas of the past. A place secluded from people and crowds, the depths of great mountains, and forests, Where great groves are dense, surrounded by pleasure gardens. Delightful, facing east. A place to practice the Wheel Mandala. Having five kinds of colors, resembling the shapes of the five precious jewels. Or perhaps precious jewels with eight corners, or resembling precious jewel sprouts. Beautiful bird songs resound in various ways. The valley is beautiful and blue in color. A place where good trees grow. A place to practice the Jewel Mandala. The mountain has various fragrant scents, with forests of red sandalwood. Or perhaps there is a garden of lotus flowers, a delightful valley, red and beautiful. Having the shape of a lotus, the sky is round and without deviation. Where dark brown bushes are dense, a place to practice the Lotus Mandala. A place where mothers gather in the charnel ground. A wide plain, a gorge with spears erected. Or in the center of a three-way intersection. A gorge cut off on this side and that side. The mountain has red clay, many blue rocks, and a place with the shape of a sword. Auspicious for practicing the Karma Mandala. The mountain is beautiful and towering, surrounded by many rocks. The valley is beautiful and wide in color. Where willow saplings grow in groves, the beautiful earth is like a jewel. The sky resembles an eight-spoked wheel. On the side there is a forest of medicine. A place to practice the general Mandala. Or perhaps all five Mandalas, complete with qualities and fully endowed. Thus, it is said to be a general place. Such places as these, a yogi with intelligence, having known and realized the characteristics, should gladly accept and practice. Teacher and disciples, having found the places in accordance with the scriptures, if the teacher does not possess meditative stability, then he will be flawed and deranged. There will be no accomplishment and decline. Having grasped these characteristics, one should know and abandon them. One who is capable of meditation, a yogi with intelligence.

Possessing these qualities defines the characteristics of both the guru and the disciple. Even if the rituals and offerings are incomplete, for all who desire accomplishment, the fruit of achievement is not far off. The characteristics of the guru and disciple are such that if they possess the rituals and offerings, the wise one will cultivate meditation in stages, and the fruit of achievement will be swiftly realized. As the Buddhas of the three times have declared, this is the explanation of all characteristics. Generate faith in the Dharma of phenomena, and delight in pure signs. Be upright and for the sake of destroying appearances and realities, for the mountains and spaces of the region, and the characteristics of each of the five families, one should thoroughly discern and uphold them. Delight in the meaning of non-duality, and practice the meaning of the uncreated. Investigate the meaning of hidden secrets. Upon this, focus one-pointedly, and stabilize meditation. First, abide in one's own body as it is. After focusing one-pointedly in meditation, meditate on all internal and external phenomena with the thought of no self-nature. This is the first purification of the ground. The right eye is the sun, the left eye is the moon. Burn, destroy, and wash away with the breath from the nose. This is the second purification. Thoroughly cleanse with the water of bodhicitta. This is the third purification. At that time, make the mudra, invite the goddess as witness, offer and dissolve the light into the ground. Demons and evil yakshas, etc., will not be able to obstruct it. Accumulate merit and gather virtue, the supreme holy one. That will become the supreme main practice. Bless the ground. That ground which is in accordance with the scriptures, for the king or landowner, etc., not by oppressive force, but speaking truthfully, acquire it with value. Then build the vajra house. In its center, construct a square platform. The five nectars and various fragrant scents, thoroughly mix and apply them. As thick or thin as leather, apply it well and make it even. Erect the clear vajra house, according to the color of each mandala, with a supreme companion who matches the family, beautifully bathed, adorned with ornaments, empower with blessings. Place those yogis on the left. Upon the measured vajra thread, after empowering and blessing it, according to the differences in the lines, begin to draw the mandala. After that, draw the dots of fragrance, build seats in each palace, the self-nature mandala.
