Then, with a clear and pure mind, to the primordial Buddha Kuntuzangpo, asked: From where does the fault of the delusion of ignorance arise? After saying this, the Teacher addressed the assembly: The fault is wind and ignorance. Not knowing the nature of equality, ignorant wind. Wind is the condition, awareness does not hold the ground. Because awareness does not hold the ground, mind and thought arise. Is it or is it not, the category of names arises. By clinging to names, desire arises in the mind. The root of the fault is the wind and the clinging to self of awareness. Not knowing the way to reverse it, attachment and craving of the mind arise. Those, by their power, become light bodies with faces and eyes. By that fault, the six afflictions arise. The five poisons of self-grasping, the demons of I and mine. Sentient beings of the six realms, wander in samsara by delusion. The fault of grasping the object and the mind, partiality, rejection and acceptance. The faults of clinging to appearances, attachment and aversion, are beyond words. The root is the dualistic mind, I and mine, desire, the three poisons, are the root of faults. Thus it was said. From the Tantra of the Mountain Pile, the seventh chapter, showing the root of faults. Then, with a clear and pure mind, to the primordial pure Buddha, asked: By what is the essence of pure awareness realized? After saying this, the Teacher addressed the assembly: The essence is the accumulation of essence, I will explain the great essential point. May the clear light of awareness be absorbed into your heart. For the method of realizing the essence of pure awareness, abandon desire, effort, activity, striving, and accomplishment. Do not look, do not meditate, do not act, it is beyond the mind. That pure awareness which is without substance, that which is pure, cannot be found as an object of searching or thinking. Realize the meaning that is beyond mind and free from thought. At the time of realization, it is free from the limits of knowledge and expression. That which is without substance, all things, nothing at all, and yet appears, is not originally nothing, but appears in various ways. Various appearances have no substance. It is not nothing, but appears as two. The two are not established, they dwell as one. They do not dwell as one, there is no thing. The characteristic of non-existence is beyond the mind. To illustrate it briefly, it is the indivisibility of clarity and emptiness, self-born, clear light of awareness, completely pure. Clear and bright, there is no space in the clarity. By this, realize the essence of pure awareness. The mind of enlightenment is nothing at all. The measurement of non-existence is beyond the mind. The essential point of the accumulation of essence is the instruction. Thus it was said. From the Tantra of the Mountain Pile, the eighth chapter, realizing the essence of pure awareness. Then, with a clear and pure mind, to the primordial pure Buddha, asked:

How is actionless non-mentation? After this was asked, the Teacher addressed the assembly: I will explain actionless non-mentation, Assembly, listen respectfully without distraction. The nine-pointed Samantabhadra Yoga, Does not search for actions or exert effort, It is sufficient to rest in the uncorrected state. Because all created dharmas are impermanent, I will explain a dharma that arises spontaneously without creation. Dharmas achieved through effort are mental constructs, I will explain a dharma that is without effort and without achievement. Desire, thought, and analysis are dharmas of the mind, I will explain a dharma that is free from desire and thought, a dharma beyond mind. Thus he spoke. From the Tantra of the Mountain Pile, The Ninth Chapter, Explanation of Actionless Non-mentation, is complete. Then, by the naturally pure clear light, To the primordial, originally pure Buddha, How is the unreal, genuine attainment achieved? After this was asked, the Teacher addressed the assembly: The method for attaining the unreal, genuine state, Is to abandon effort in body, speech, and mind, Without looking, without meditating, without practice, there is attainment. Unreal wisdom transcends the mind, Inseparably abiding in the nature of clarity and emptiness, Clear and distinct, without any substantial characteristics, Not thinking about anything, beyond thought. In the unreal, genuine state, In what is there no mind, no conceptual grasping? Transcending consciousness, awareness, memory, and thought, It is attained by being without desire or calculation. At the time of attainment, the unreal transcends the mind, Transcending the differentiation of appearances and existence. Thus he spoke. From the Tantra of the Mountain Pile, The Tenth Chapter, Attainment of the Unreal, is complete. Then, by the naturally pure clear light, To the primordial, originally pure Buddha, The essence of the minds of all Buddhas, How is the innermost essence of intention gathered? After this was asked, the Teacher addressed the assembly: I will explain the gathered essence of intention, Assembly, do not be distracted, keep it in mind. (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Chinese meaning) Then, the primordial Buddha said: The essence of the minds of all the Tathagatas, The innermost essence of intention, I will explain the gathered intention of all Buddhas. Embed the clear light of nature in your mind, Although the unreal, originally pure is beyond words, I will explain it so that inferior minds may generate realization. Because the nature of phenomena is completely pure, All dharmas are naturally pure. This gathered essence of the minds of all the Tathagatas, Is a compilation of all the sutras of intention. The unreal, originally pure, which is the cause of all, Is separated from all actions, Without beginning or end.
