Offering food offerings, making vows, and offering prayers. Then, the Nagas also offered various essences, as well as yogurt, milk, butter, and curd, etc., as decorations for the food offerings, making vows and offering prayers. Then, the Gandharvas also offered various incenses and fragrances as aids to the food offerings, making vows and offering prayers. Then, the Yamarajas also offered grain oil and skull blood, etc., as aids to the food offerings, making vows and offering prayers. Similarly, the human kings also offered the seven precious royal treasures, etc., as aids to the food offerings, as mentioned before. Similarly, the Matrikas, the flesh-eaters, the Vidyadhara Siddhas, the classes of obstacles, the pretas, the human-like beings, and the various different kinds of beings, also offered whatever wealth and enjoyment they had as materials for the food offerings, making vows and offering prayers. May all be enlightened by transforming into the nature of food offerings. With such meaning, all abide in the food offerings and enjoy the nature of the food offerings. Then, the Blessed One Vajrasattva said: "Those who abide in secret mantra yoga, how to enjoy the ultimate secret food offerings, what should be instructed to the yogis who abide in vows, remember and listen, protect the Dharma and save it. There is no water in one world that is not drunk. There is no one in this world who does not break vows. Whoever does not act according to the teachings and does not keep vows, you should kill them and engage in joyful activities." After saying this, the arrogant ones of the world and the gods and demons also acted accordingly. Therefore, possessing both leisure and endowment, upholding vows, will become helpers for the yogis who abide in vows in later generations, and for those who do not keep vows, they will descend as demons. In the great food offering tantra, the seventeenth chapter is the chapter on the yogi offering enjoyments as food offerings, praying and making vows. Then, the Blessed One, the glorious Samantabhadra, spoke this chapter on vows that are extremely difficult to transgress. The vow of the great Bodhisattva is all dharmas.

The beginning of everything is the vow. Why is that? Just as the earth causes all things to grow and ripen, this vow is the cause of the arising of all the accomplishments of the Buddhas and the Dharma. So, what is the root of the vow? It is the Vajra Master and the Dharma brothers and sisters. Among them, the Vajra Master is not only the one who explains the tantric instructions to oneself, but also refers to all those who have wisdom, practice, and abide in the vow. Why is that? Because their mind and the conduct of wisdom abide together as one. The Dharma brothers and sisters are also the same, not only referring to those who are integrated and one with oneself, but also referring to all the yogis who abide in the teachings and vows. Why is that? Because they are one in the meaning of the great equality of secret mantra, without separation. Towards these people, let alone generating contempt, slander, fighting and arguing, violating teachings and vows, even gesturing to a foolish person should not be done. If one can keep the vow and abide in it, even without making other efforts, one will undoubtedly attain Buddhahood. If one cannot keep the vow, even if one practices diligence as high as Mount Sumeru, one will surely be born in the Avici hell. When does the great Bodhisattva not keep the vows of the body, but practices diligence and pure dharmas, and they argue endlessly, not yielding to each other, this will lead to futility and wasted effort. For example, if the root of life and the heart meridian are full of diseases, even a skilled doctor of medicine cannot cure it. Therefore, in suffering and at the time of death, there will be intense regret, and the ripening of the fruit will be of no avail. The vow of speech should be combined with mantras and mudras. For those who have realized the truth, their speech and bodily movements naturally combine with mantras and mudras. For ordinary people, they should accept and value mantras and mudras, and even at least combine them in terms of time and quantity. If one can accept without transgressing the vow, let alone the vast teachings, merely reciting one mantra will attain the accomplishment of body, speech, and mind. If
