Thus. A sudden practitioner who meditates on a deity with form will become a non-sudden practitioner. Because one does not meditate on the deity during the view, and meditates on the deity during meditation, there is a contradiction. Second, when establishing the view, one realizes it as inseparable and unique. When practicing, one becomes accustomed to the inseparable and unique. When the result reaches its culmination, one makes it inseparable and unique to reach its culmination, this is the sudden practitioner. One gradually realizes inseparability, gradually becomes accustomed, and gradually reaches culmination, this is the gradual practitioner. The great accomplished master and Je Drolyong said this, and it is well said. Third, in that case, do the five minds of the sudden practitioner arise gradually or not? If it is like the first case, it will become a non-sudden practitioner. If it is like the second case, the path of the sudden practitioner will become the nature of the path, because the five minds do not arise. If one says that they arise, then there is no later fault. The way they arise is relative to gradual transcendence, and they arise very quickly in time, so there is also no first fault, just like piercing five connected peony petals with a needle. Therefore, the analogy for the gradual practitioner is like piercing five connected wooden boards with an awl, the previous masters said. The third part is divided into two points, the first point is to establish the gradual practitioner, binding the path to three characteristics to explain, and to examine liberation and transcendence in this, and to consider the difference between whether these have defilements or not. First point, with defilements or without defilements? Both view and meditation can be bound, however, in this case, as it is said: The aggregate of knowing and entering characteristics is complete, the cause and condition for the fruit to ripen, whatever becomes capable, is known as the field of victory of the vidyadhara. And in the oral instruction of the second Buddha, the garland of views, it says: Therefore, with three characteristics, the meaning reaches its culmination, knowing the way of the four realizations is the characteristic of knowing. Accustoming oneself again and again is the characteristic of entering. Manifesting through the power of habit is the characteristic of the fruit. Following these words, binding with three characteristics, the cause is the view of the characteristic of knowing, the condition is the meditation of the characteristic of entering, on the path

The fruit of transformation is the Vidyadhara. First, what is to be realized is the nature of view, what can realize is the nature of mind, and how it realizes. First, how the nature of all dharmas abides, that is, as it is said in the Extensive: "What is the nature of dharma? It is what I should truly realize." Second, it is the power of discriminating wisdom arising from hearing and thinking, as it is said in the Lamrim: "In order to see the mandala of cause, one seeks with pure hearing and thinking." Third, in the Opening the Eye of Wisdom it says: "The means of seeing also has transmission, represented by signs and determined." There are three types: for the dull, it is to be realized through transmission; for the medium, it is to be realized by relying on signs; for the sharp, it is to be realized by reasoning. The first also has two types: near and far. The near is that for those who cannot realize through wisdom born of thought, it is not that there is no means, but it can be transmitted and realized through the door of samadhi such as practicing the mudra of the deity. As it is said in the previous text: "For the inferior, by familiarizing with the three mudras, after being stable, one can see entering the river of investigation, be stable on the path of meditation, and there is no doubt that it will arise gradually." The far is that if there is no fortune to practice directly in this life, put the essence of dependent arising dharani into a stupa, recite and circumambulate it, and pray to realize it in another life, as it is said in the Differentiation: "Otherwise, just doing causes etc., it is said in the tantra: if one writes the nature of dependent arising, one will realize the ultimate truth of the nature of dharma." Second, in the Opening of the Eye it says: "Also examine the supreme knowable, the signs of nature and fruit." Therefore, it is divided into two types. First, the sign of nature is that the meaning of the five wisdoms is represented by the five elements, five colors, five directions, etc., thereby realizing the nature of dharma, as it is said therein: "First, the magical display of one's own awareness, the elements of appearance and directions and colors etc., represent and realize as it is." Second, the sign of fruit is that the meaning is represented and realized by relying on the signs of the mandala of the support and the supported, as it is said therein: "The other is the mandala of perfect wisdom"
