The three subtle ones are: at the time of gathering and dispersing, the syllables, the mudras, and the gathering and dispersing of the subtle body, or doing the vajra recitation. As it is said in the "Four Mudras": "The first is speech, the middle is mind, the last is the gathering and dispersing of the subtle body, or doing the vajra recitation." Thus, according to one's preference, the best is the one with signs, the intermediate is the one with time, and the last is the one with number, any of the three recitations should be completed to the limit. As it is said in the "Stages of the Path": "The recitation should be completed to the limit." And as it is said in the "Stages of Light": "The recitation of number, time, and signs, is said to be the supreme of methods." Because it is said so. Among them, the recitation with signs is: whatever the stage of the one mudra practice is, one should recite until one's five experiences have not reached the end. The second, the time recitation is: because time and number are not definitely specified here, so, one year or, six months, one month, etc., however long one vows to recite, one should recite until it is completed. The third, the number recitation is also: however much one intends to recite, one should vow to recite that much, and one should recite until that time. However, in the commentary of the Omniscient Great One, it is said: "In general, it is considered that the number recitation is completed by reciting a hundred million times for the main deity, and ten thousand times each for the retinue, so here we should follow that." It should be understood in this way. In short, the activity of recitation is that the deeds of the Buddha will be accomplished. As it is said in the "Clear Lamp of Commitment": "One's own three doors are manifestly combined with the body, speech, and mind of the yidam, constantly reciting is entering the Bodhi Dharani." It is said so. Second, regarding the mudras, the mudra of the view of self-nature, the three mudras of superior samadhi. The first is: all conceptualizations are originally complete in the mandala of the net of illusion. It is also said: "Manifestly complete with the net of illusion, all are the seal of supreme Bodhi." And in the extensive explanation, it is said: "The great mudra of self-nature is that all outer and inner containers and contents are all abiding in the great mudra of the five families of Sugatas, fathers and mothers." It is said so. In the three stages of abiding, realizing, and manifesting in this way, it is also called the mudra of self-nature, view, and fruit. The second is: at that time, when conceptualizations are realized as abiding in the nature of the deity, whatever is done does not go beyond the great mudra, so it is
