It is not limited to just three. The sound of "Brahma" (Tibetan: བྲཧྨའི་, Sanskrit Devanagari: ब्रह्म, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: Brahma, literal Chinese meaning: Brahma) implies purity, cleanliness, and purification. If one becomes pure, clean, and purified from the defilements of desire, then, broadly speaking, all twenty-one realms of the upper realms—the seventeen realms of the form realm and the four realms of the formless realm—can be referred to as "Brahma." The path to reach there and its associated practices are called the "Brahma Vehicle." That is, through tranquility (shamatha), and by viewing the lower realms as coarse and observing one's own realm in detail, through the power of cultivating insight (vipassana), it is said that one can abandon the defilements of the lower realms and be born in the upper realms. Therefore, if one does not attain the actual practice of the four dhyanas and the four formless absorptions, which are the paths to detach from attachment to one's own lower realms, one cannot be born in the upper realms. Thus, the form and formless realms are the actual Brahma Vehicle, while the four immeasurables and the five mundane abhijñas are considered special qualities of the Brahma Vehicle path. For these, there are also cause and effect in terms of view, entry points, and the discipline of abandoning the ten non-virtues. In terms of conduct, one practices the ten virtues, and in addition to the previous conduct, one also practices the four immeasurables: loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity. In terms of meditation, there are two types of samadhi: form and formless. The first is the four dhyanas, which are characterized by detachment from the feelings of desire. As stated in the Middle Mother Sutra: "With investigation and analysis is the first dhyana. Without investigation but only analysis is the second dhyana. Without investigation and without analysis, the mental activity is the third dhyana. Gathering joy, the mental activity is the fourth dhyana." The second is the four absorptions, which are characterized by detachment from the perceptions of the four dhyanas: the sphere of infinite space, the sphere of infinite consciousness, the sphere of nothingness, and the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, which is the ultimate path of the peak of existence (bhavagra). These are also mentioned in the extensive commentary: "Practicing the four immeasurables, cultivating unwavering meditation, is the cause of being born in the Brahma realms and so forth." In terms of results, there are two types: form and formless. The first is the small, medium, and large three of the actual practice of the first dhyana.

From meditating on samadhi, one is born in the Brahma realm and the three realms, etc. It corresponds to the twelve places of ordinary beings. Fourth, if one cultivates the uncontaminated wisdom of insight and meditates five times in succession, one will be born in the five pure abodes such as Aviha. However, since one has not obtained detachment from form and is attached to the taste of samadhi, one will wander in samsara. As the Lamrim says: "The four immeasurables and the four dhyanas, gradually grasping self in each, perceiving all forms as self, this is to be born in the Brahma realm in order." Second, due to the lack of wisdom of higher vision, one grasps the samadhi associated with the four names as self, and thus is born as a formless deity. It says: "Without realizing equality and formlessness, without knowing the emptiness of the four names, if one dwells in the four places, one will be born in the realm of the peak of existence." It is divided into general and separate explanations. First, it is said in this very text: "Not understanding and wrongly understanding." Regarding this meaning, the previous teachers had different views. Teacher Nyima Öser Singe considered not understanding to be the three: vulgar, distant, and ignorant, and wrongly understanding to be the Tirthikas. Teacher Geg Dorje considered not understanding to be the vulgar, and wrongly understanding to be the two extremes of eternalism and nihilism of the Tirthikas. Bimala's view is, in the Small Commentary, "In general, not understanding refers to the vulgar and the distant, and wrongly understanding refers to ignorance and the Tirthikas." The great teacher Padma's instruction, the Garland of Views, also says the same. Omniscient Chöje considered not understanding to be the Sorthag school, and wrongly understanding to be the Tirthika school. Even so, in most of the precepts of both our own and other schools, it is considered as in the Small Commentary and the Garland of Views, so here too we will explain it in the same way. It is divided into two: not understanding and wrongly understanding. The first is divided into definition and classification. First, the definition is: a common person whose mind has not been changed by other philosophical systems. The second is divided into two: the main topic and the subsidiary. First, the main topic of not understanding is: the vulgar person of the world. There are three aspects: nature, definition, and classification. The nature is: complete ignorance of not understanding karma and its results. The definition is: one who does not practice or adopt the law of dependent origination, whether it exists or not.
