When Vajrapani compiled the explanations of Pawo into words, he pledged that his own intention was the same as the Buddha's, and therefore, he considered compiling "Thus I have heard," etc. In the commentary Nyisengma, it says: "Now, the compiler will explain the basis of the tantra in accordance with the words of the Bhagavan, through the oral instructions of the guru, namely, 'Thus I have heard,' etc." The second part also has two sections: debate and answer. The first is: Does the name contain the meaning of the tantra or not? If it does, then the name and the ten topics of the tantra should be connected like chest to chest. If it does not, then those with superior faculties will not be able to understand the meaning of the tantra by relying on the name. If one says that, the second part is: Although the ten topics of the tantra and the meaning of the name cannot be connected separately, the meaning of the name exists in the three: ground, path, and result. Therefore, there is no fault of not including the meaning of the tantra there. Furthermore, it is said that seeing the name allows one to understand the meaning of the beginning and end of the tantra. This is because the name is given based on seeing the meaning, so it is the realization of the previous assembly. The view of Nyang's commentator is correct. That is, when Vajrapani himself understood the meaning of the tantra and explained it to the assembly, he named it based on the meaning. Therefore, for the previous ones, the name included all the words and meanings, and there is no contradiction in understanding it in an instant. The Ocean Sutra says: "Abandoning all obscurations, for the beings to be tamed, it manifests in an instant." And so on. Later, understanding the meaning based on the name is only understanding the symbols of the three: ground, path, and result, because the name is only a name that can represent the meaning. For example, when the word "vase" is spoken, although one understands the object with a bulging belly, a shrinking base, and the ability to hold water, it does not cover the special qualities of a golden vase, etc. That is what I think. The third part is: For this tantra, the name of the tantra is Vajrasattva Mayajala Tantra, the name of the agama is the General Agama, and the name of the upadesha is Secret Essence. But why is only the name of the upadesha mentioned at the beginning of the text? The answer is: Even in Mahayoga, there are three divisions: tantra, agama, and upadesha. Since this is the Ati of Maha, only the name of the upadesha is mentioned. The fourth part also has two sections: debate and answer. The first is: Some ignorant people say,

It is said that this tantra was not translated from India, because the Chinese language is not mentioned at the beginning. The second part has two aspects: refutation and establishment. Firstly, some teachers say, "If there is no Chinese language at all, it is not appropriate to translate into Tibetan. Therefore, the word 'Tibetan' implicitly indicates that there is Chinese language." This statement is not correct, because Tibetan can be mixed with Chinese and other languages, so it cannot be concluded that it must be from India. Moreover, Chinese can also be implicitly added to treatises composed in Tibet, so it cannot be concluded that they must be from India. Secondly, the absence of Chinese here does not necessarily mean that it is a Tibetan work. Because many treatises composed in Tibet also use Chinese at the beginning, but this does not make them Indian works. Furthermore, if it is said to be a Tibetan work simply because the Indian language is not mentioned at the beginning, then the scriptures translated from Chinese will also become Tibetan works. If it is said that because two languages are not mentioned, then all Indian manuscripts will inevitably become Tibetan works. Even so, why is only Tibetan mentioned at the beginning? Obviously, the early translated Indian manuscripts mentioned "Indian language", because the commentary "Nyisengma" explains this. So, what is the need to say this? Because the secret mantra tantras are not necessarily limited to the four Indian languages, as explained extensively in the "Kalachakra Great Commentary" and others. Therefore, it must be determined that this tantra is taught in Sanskrit among the four Indian languages. As the "Nyisengma Commentary" says, "India refers to both the container and the essence, such as near Vajrasana, etc. Language refers to the four languages, etc., here it should be understood as Sanskrit." Therefore, the translators also followed this and mentioned "Tibetan" at the beginning. The early people did not mention Chinese in order to be concise, and only mentioned Tibetan in order to quickly understand its meaning, but this is just a saying. In short, this tantra has been widely explained by the well-known Indian great pandits, and many quotations from this tantra are also cited in the commentary on the Guhyasamaja Tantra written by Vishvamitra. Even in later times, there are many Indian manuscripts.
