are born. Thus, in the Daśabhūmika Sūtra, it is also said: "Oh, sons of the Victorious Ones! These three realms are only mind." Thus, in the Sixty Stanzas of Reasoning, it is said: "Explaining the great elements and so forth, they are completely contained within consciousness." Thus. These are establishing all phenomena as self-appearing through common reasoning, and establishing them as free from extremes through uncommon reasoning, which will be explained below. Third, if the appearances of ordinary beings are taken as the basis of the nature of reality as they are, then, because the knowable is taken as an object without error, the consciousness of ordinary beings will also become a valid cognition, like the direct perception of the noble ones. If it is not the basis of reality, then this illusion will not be the pervasive object of the Dharma-nature, because the entities are different, like a pillar and a pot. In response, the wise one said: From the perspective of appearance, Dharma-nature is self-appearing, so it is Dharma-nature, but from the perspective of clinging, it is not, because it relies on different objects. Je Nyariwa said, "At the time of realization, there is nothing that does not become the basis, and the illusion of non-realization is not." But both of these are not well thought out. If, as in the first case, appearance and clinging are of the same essence as mind, then the two aspects of appearing and not appearing on one essence are contradictory, and clinging also becomes the self-appearance of Dharma-nature. If they are different, then when clinging and illusion are abandoned, the appearance of illusion will not be abandoned. If, as in the second case, realization depends on conditions, then it will not be the appearance of self-nature. If it does not depend, then the difference between the time of realization and non-realization, as the basis of whether or not it exists, the commitment will be lost. So what is it? Self-nature is completely Dharma-nature, aspects are not mixed with illusory transformation, and there is no difference in essence,

By explaining the distinctions, it reveals that the ground (gZhi) has no bondage and liberation. Through the three true tenets, it establishes the self-doctrine as free from extremes. Thinking about the valid cognition that determines the ground. Firstly, it explains the meaning of primordial purity and spontaneous accomplishment. States the divisions of views. Refutes the flawed aspects. Establishes the self-doctrine, dividing it into four aspects. The first aspect is: The ground is pure from the beginning, because ignorance is a sudden defilement. Just like a precious jewel is covered by unclean mud. Thus, those who consider the ground and defilement as different are the primordially pure. The ground is spontaneously accomplished from the beginning, because ignorance is not external. If gold and iron were not indistinguishable from the beginning, then alchemy could not turn iron into gold. Thus, those who consider the ground and defilement as indistinguishable are the spontaneously accomplished. The second aspect is: Although each of these two has three divisions. But the great primordial purity and the great spontaneous accomplishment are the objects to be accomplished by complete severance, so they will be explained later. Here, according to the flawed views, each is divided into two. That is, primordial purity is divided into two: The Dharmadhatu Primordial Purity says: The ground is completely pure Dharmadhatu. It cannot be the basis of ignorance, just as precious jewels have no removal of unclean mud. The Wisdom Primordial Purity says: The result is body and wisdom, and ignorance is a sudden defilement, which is abandoned through the five paths. Just as the obstacle to the emergence of the desired and needed of precious jewels, the unclean mud, is washed and cleaned, and then the desired and needed can emerge. Spontaneous accomplishment is also divided into two: The Dharmata Spontaneous Accomplishment says: The ground is the key point that ignorance and wisdom are inseparable, so it does not exceed the nature of one Dharmata. The phenomena are also mutually spontaneously accomplished, if gold and iron were not indistinguishable from the beginning, then alchemy could not turn iron into gold, just like earth and wood, etc. The Phenomena Spontaneous Accomplishment says: Even if the result of body and wisdom is obtained, ignorance is not completely abandoned, because both samsara and nirvana are different from it. Just as when iron turns into gold, there is no trace of gold on the iron, but it is not separated from the state of becoming iron. That's what they say. The third aspect is: According to the view of Dharmadhatu Primordial Purity.
