Because it is considered that all the various inner dharmas, the Bodhicitta, as it naturally and primordially exists, is the meaning of the tantra to be understood. Even though the ultimate is not the object of the mind, in the category of distinguishing the two truths, it is important that on the mere appearance of knowable things, the field of the two truths is also established. Therefore, just as the knowable is taken as the basis of distinction, it is the same here. Secondly, the basis of distinction is only the knowable, and the dharma of distinction is determined as the three: basis, path, and result, neither more nor less. Thirdly, because of relying on what the basis itself possesses, generating the desire for the Rupakaya and wisdom of the result, it is necessary to endure the hardships of the path and enter, just as ghee naturally exists in mustard seeds, and those who want ghee do not care about the labor of grinding and entering. Fourthly, since the gateway of distinction is determined and included in the three: basis, path, and result, is this understood through valid cognition or through non-valid cognition? It is understood through valid cognition, otherwise it would be reduced to an exaggerating conceptualization and would not be reliable. Then, is it understood through speculative reasoning? No, because the meaning of reality to be realized transcends mundane cognition. As it says in the Gongdü: "Like example, or valid cognition, or reason, or the wisdom of recollection, cannot realize it, like a blind man measuring the height of the sky." And in the Definitive Explanation: "The object of self-awareness, without characteristics, is inexpressible, cutting off all terms, the ultimate dharma is without dispute, that is beyond the scope of speculation." And in the Lankavatara Sutra it also says: "Those childish speculators, like corpses, are speculated by them." So, through what is it known? The Lamrim says: "By summarizing the differences, the three all-encompassing." Therefore, what can measure the extremely hidden meaning without omission is only the Buddha's immaculate scriptural valid cognition, the expert's instruction valid cognition, and the reasoning valid cognition that arises in accordance with the two. Therefore, it is understood through the three universal valid cognitions. As it says in the Explanatory Tantra Vajra Mirror: "With the valid cognition of scripture, reason, and instruction, whatever is measured, all that is knowable is within it."

will be realized. It also says, "In the Smaller Commentary, it says: This Secret Commentary of the Lamp of the Heart is determined by scripture, key instructions, and reasoning." It also says, Scholar Pal Yang said in the Lamp of Correct View: The object of the mind of great wisdom, which is non-conceptual and of ultimate nature, is determined by scripture, key instructions, and reasoning, and one must have faith in the true nature of the Dharma. Therefore, scripture is what is said here: In the mandala of perfect wisdom, through the combination of hearing, thinking, and meditating, self-arisen and spontaneously accomplished. Key instructions are: In order to understand the knowable of the ground, path, and result, in order to understand the words and meanings that are in harmony, it is summarized into the meaning of the three continuums. Reasoning is: From the basis of division, the gateways of division are determined to be the three: ground, path, and result. If these are not complete, the fruit of enlightenment, which perfects the two benefits, will not arise, because there is nothing that does not include all knowable dharmas there. The first point is established, because if these three are not complete, it is impossible for the result to arise. For example, even if there is a seed, if there is no field and no effort of a person, or even if there are these two, if there is no seed, there will be no harvest. The second point is established, because no other dharma that is not included there has been found. If someone says that the appearance of delusion is not included, then there is no fault, because it is included in the ground that is the object of investigation, because the ground is determined to be two types: the ground of the essence and the ground of investigation. As it says in the Three Successive Ones: The ground of the essence and the ground of investigation. Secondly, there are three: the essence of the ground, the path, and the result. In the first, there is also: the general state of the ground, the essence of the object of investigation. The first is: self-awareness, the mind of enlightenment, as it says in the Three Successive Ones: All essences are the mind itself, like the example of gold, there is no duality. The second is: without modification or adulteration, self-power appears unceasingly in everything, as it says in the Compass: In the system of self-awareness, everything appears. The third is: all dharmas included in the appearances and attachments of the vessel and its contents, as it says in the Three Successive Ones: The essence is the world of the vessel and its contents, the dharmas of appearance and attachment. Secondly, the essence of the path is: the four or five minds, common and supreme, that are produced or arise by the three wisdoms that produce,
