Wishing to attain Buddhahood in the supreme mandala ground, possessing the nature of the three kayas and five wisdoms. As stated in the Kunje Gyalpo Tantra: "Those who wish to establish the dense yoga mandala, will be liberated in three lifetimes." And as stated in the Iron Gate of the Mind: "Having purified the five grasping and apprehended habitual tendencies, with the power of the five wisdoms, subduing the ground of the dense mandala, one obtains the fruit of the union of the five families. The pure unborn Dharmakaya benefits beings from the gate of the unborn. The five mudras of the families perfectly enjoy, perfecting the benefit of beings of the Bodhisattvas. With billions of emanations, one shows various forms to the faces of the six realms." Thus it is said. Secondly, regarding the inner path of skillful means, explaining the distinctions between the generation stage, completion stage, and Great Perfection, and examining which of these three this tantric text belongs to. Firstly, some lamas believe that the original outline of the inner Mahayoga is complete and does not need to be added to. Although the original outlines of Anuyoga and Atiyoga do not necessarily need to be added here, even so, in order to distinguish the characteristics of each when identifying which of the three this text belongs to below, a little will be written. As stated in the Rangshar Tantra: "The inner path is considered to be three, namely Maha, Anu, and Ati." Therefore, the tantra is Mahayoga, the agama is Anuyoga, and the pith instruction is Atiyoga. Regarding the differences between these three, when Glen Chapar asked Je Zur Chungwa, the answer was: That which appears as the magical display of awareness is Maha, that which appears as the power of self-awareness is Anu, and awareness itself-appearing is Ati. As Garab Dorje said: "Magical display, power, and self-appearance." Because it is said in this way, the meaning of what is said is: Understanding that all phenomena are the magical display of mind itself, emptiness inseparable, is Mahayoga; understanding that all phenomena are the power of mind itself, the dharmadhatu and wisdom inseparable, is Anuyoga; understanding that all phenomena are the self-appearing wisdom of mind itself, primordially unborn and unceasing, is Atiyoga. This is a distinction made from the perspective of view. Among them, both Mipham Rinpoche and Glenpa consider it to be a precious treasure. Also, Kyö Gongbuwa said: "It is a matter of the size of grasping, practice is the main thing in Maha, samadhi is the main thing in Anu, and view is the main thing in Ati." Also, Lhaje Rok, because the deities are generated sequentially by the three samadhis, therefore the generation stage is Maha, the way in which the deities are perfected without relying on this

Anu is the completion of arising. That which is free from both arising and completion, and which cannot be arisen, is Ati, the Great Perfection. Alternatively, Maha is the one who has great attachment to the ten objects of the tantra. Anu is smaller than that. Ati is said to be free from attachment. According to Meynyak Jungdrak, although all three, arising, completion, and existence, are present, Maha mainly teaches the generation stage, Anu mainly teaches the completion stage, and the Great Perfection is free from the efforts of these two. Gyalwa Kundor also considers this distinction in etymology to be excellent. The Omniscient Great One said that for those who are to be tamed and who have a strong tendency towards hatred and many thoughts, the father tantra of Maha Yoga, which is the nature of appearance as skillful means, is taught. For those who have a strong tendency towards desire and who enjoy abiding in the mind, Anu, the mother tantra of wisdom, which is the completion stage of emptiness as suchness, is taught. For those who have a strong tendency towards delusion and who are fond of activity, the nature of non-duality, Ati Yoga, is taught. In the Great Array it is said: 'Arising is for those whose minds are scattered. Completion is for those whose minds are essential. The Great Perfection is for the supremely secret.' Therefore, it is said. Also in Resting the Mind it says: 'Maha is mainly the wind and the generation stage of skillful means. Anu is mainly the elements and the completion stage of wisdom. Ati is mainly all non-dual wisdom.' From that, first, in the vehicle of Maha Yoga, there are three aspects: essence, definition, and division. First, the essence is the nature of attaining liberation through the union of realization and familiarization with the meaning of the indivisibility of the ultimate truth, mainly relying on the stage of skillful means generation. Second, the definition is that the term Maha Yoga means great yoga, because it is superior to external yoga due to the mind being endowed with the meaning of non-duality. Third, the divisions are six. First, there are two entrances: the first is empowerment, which is the conferring of the four empowerments by adding the three superior uncommon supreme empowerments to the common vase empowerment. As it says in the latter part of the root tantra: 'The master, secret wisdom, and immediately following, the fourth.' That is, the vase empowerment is divided into two: benefit and power, thus becoming five. As it says in Vajra Activity Sequence: 'The divisions become five kinds, the activity of both self-benefit and power.' Second, the entrance of activity is the yoga of great wisdom emptiness, and the skillful means of compassion illusion and subtle and coarse mudras, which is samadhi.
