In the Sutra of Eliminating the Regret of Earth Enemies, the previous emperors all said that, distinct from the Sravaka Pitaka, is the concise explanation of the independent self-tradition Pitaka. As the root and commentary of the Ornament of Clear Realization, etc., also hold that Sravakas and Pratyekabuddhas have differences in their paths. On top of the sixteen aspects of the Four Noble Truths, impermanence, etc., by blocking the arising of dependent origination, one sequentially meditates on the twelve links of reverse emptiness. Fifth is conduct: not speaking Dharma to those to be tamed with words, but accomplishing things through the signs of bodily magical transformations. As the Ornament of Clear Realization says: "Whatever meaning for whatever, however, however one desires to hear, for that meaning, that and meaning, even without sound, it appears thus." Also, as Yuthang says: "Conduct through bodily magical transformations, benefiting others, some knowers practice." So it is said. Sixth is the result: sharp faculties like a rhinoceros dwelling alone, is the completion of the five paths on one seat, with the supreme bliss of wish-fulfilling, manifesting the Arhat who knows exhaustion and non-arising. As the Treasury says: "The guide and the rhinoceros, enlightenment, meditation's edge, all in one place, before that, liberation part." So it is said. Like parrots dwelling in groups, there are two kinds of large and small assembly practices, sequentially practicing the four and three paths beforehand. Those also, as said in the extensive explanation: "Knowing the manner of inner and outer dependent origination, illusion, eye trick, unimpeded and thoroughly entering into the form of things, virtuous friend, non-learner, realizing with one's own awareness, Bodhi ground crossing, wish-fulfilling great bliss." So it is said. Second is the Bodhisattva Vehicle, explaining the reason for being superior to the Lesser Vehicle, and the Vehicle itself that is especially superior. First is: with great wisdom, one can truly realize the two selflessnesses, and with great compassion, one can solely practice benefiting others, therefore surpassing, because the Lesser Vehicle does not have these. Also, as the Tantra of the Arrangement of Wisdom says: "Compassion focuses on sentient beings, wisdom pervades the realm of Dharma, it is said to be the nature of the Great Vehicle, others are the opposite of this." Also, as Master A-ruo-li says: "The difference of vehicles is only wisdom and compassion, the difference of these being large and small, shows the difference of vehicles." Also, as the Compendium says: "Without skillful means, separated from wisdom, one falls into the state of a Sravaka." So it is said. Second is: in this itself

Sa. The meaning of the Bodhisattva Vehicle is: essence, definition, and classification. First, it is the supreme method of realizing that all phenomena are without self and practicing the great wave of benefiting others with great compassion. Second, the term Bodhisattva means that one cannot achieve unsurpassed enlightenment with great mental strength alone, hence the name Bodhisattva. Third, there are six, the first of which is the entrance, through the gate of the two truths. As it says in Rangshar: The vehicle of the Bodhisattva, the entrance is the two truths. Thus it is. Furthermore, according to the Madhyamaka school's treatises, these appearances that have not been examined or scrutinized, although they appear, are known to be unreal and illusory in nature. With this wisdom, they are embraced by the mind of loving-kindness, compassion, and bodhichitta, and they enter into the conventional truth through the manner of engaging and disengaging from virtue and non-virtue. In the ultimate truth, they understand the nature of reality as being free from elaboration, and thus they enter through the gate of union. The two truths are: As it says in Heruka Galpo: The Dharma taught by the Buddhas is truly contained within the two truths. Thus it is. Furthermore, the basis of classification is merely what is knowable, and it is divided into the conventional truth of appearance and the ultimate truth of reality. Among them, the appearance of merely what is knowable also establishes the field of the two truths. As it is said. Among them, the conventional is a phenomenon that has become an object of the mind, possessing characteristics. Among them, that which deceives and becomes an object of the mind is the general characteristic of the conventional. Thus it is. The classification is: the true conventional, which appears and is able to function, like a person appearing as a person; and the false conventional, which appears but is unable to function, like a stump appearing as a person. Among them, the classification of the conventional is called the true and the false conventional. The characteristics of each are explained in detail: that which appears but is unable to function is false, and that which truly appears is able to function. Thus it is said. In the two truths, although it resembles appearance, it is able to function, and because of the ability and inability to function, the conventional is divided into the true and the untrue. Thus it is. The ultimate truth is that which is free from all extremes of elaboration. Galpo says: The characteristic of the ultimate truth is that it is free from all elaboration. Thus it is. Furthermore, in Je Tāri's commentary on the Sugata's treatises, there is existence and non-existence.
