If someone says that (this tantra) did not arise from the three—the teacher, retinue, and place—then the answer is: The previous lamas said that there is no fault in that doubt. Because the Dharma is complete in the teacher's mind, and the time is when the three—the teacher, retinue, and place—are gathered. As it is said in the Wisdom Perfection Tantra: "When the place and the teacher, the retinue assembly, the time and the Dharma, naturally arise from it." Lharje Zur Chungwa said: "The sphere of suchness itself," etc., has shown the Dharma. If it arises from debate, then that is a confusion of the tantra. Je Dro Phukpa Khuton and others mostly followed Sparkhab's view, considering it mainly for the purpose of summarizing the basis of debate. Even so, if it is thought that for the side that wants to be the Dharma, there is the fault of arising without initiating debate; for the side that wants to be the basis of debate, there is the harm of "taken from the vajra." I think that both statements are not contradictory. If according to the first statement, in the mind of the teacher who is the indivisible embodiment of the five families of all Buddhas, how the meaning of the tantra appeared, when the secret lord summarizes it, because it has been summarized, there is no fault of not initiating debate. Moreover, this itself is considering the most superior of the disciples to be tamed, and is a brief explanation of the meaning of the tantra, so it will become the Dharma itself. As it is said in the Extensive Knot Explanation: "Now we will show the complete Dharma, the Tathagata and the assembly of consorts, etc." The Small Explanation says: "In the essence of this tantra, the secret of all mandalas, body, speech, qualities, activity, mind, are certainly taken from the vajra." Because they consider this to be a brief explanation of the meaning of the tantra. If according to the second statement, for the disciples to be tamed who are of medium or lower capacity, in order to show the meaning of the tantra below, therefore this is summarizing the basis of debate. As Sparkhab said: "From here onwards, it shows the summary of the basis of debate." Even so, if it is thought that "taken from the vajra" would be harmful, it would not be harmful. Because it says therein: "In order to become the sixth family by completing the empowerment." Because after completing the empowerment, there is no difference between showing and summarizing, and having been liberated from whether the tantra of intention is one or other, therefore what the summarizer says is taken from the vajra, which does not contradict showing that it is taken from the mind of the teacher and the holy being. Then, does this

How then does one briefly explain the meaning of the root tantra? In the Minor Commentary, the twelve mandalas and the lamas are summarized into seven mandalas and nine vehicles, which also becomes the meaning of the tantra. The twelve or seven mandalas are the actual meaning of the tantra, and the vehicles are also of the same essence as the meaning of the tantra. Here, all the subjects of the tantra are included in the three tantras, and because they are summarized here, they become an explanation. "Suchness" indicates the ground tantra, "control" and the second line indicate the path tantra, and "wisdom mandala, of compassion" and the third line onwards indicate the result tantra. Therefore, this is a brief explanation of the three tantras. The subjects of the beginning and end of the tantra are the three: ground, path, and result, and it should be known that all explanations of these originate from this. The fifth perfection is the perfection of time. In the Core Text, it says, "The nature of time is co-existent, but for the fortunate ones, it is a rare time." Therefore, there are two times: the time of essence and the time appearing to those to be tamed. The first is the time of equality of the four times. Although in the relative truth, time appears to have before and after differences, in the ultimate truth, it is not determined, and from the perspective of non-duality, it cannot be said to be the same or different, therefore it is called the time of equality. In the Extensive Text, it says, "All past and future, through the distinction of wisdom realization, the four times have no before or after, and are joined together in equality." And in the Minor Commentary, it says, "The equality of the four times is in the nature of the Dharmadhatu, abiding immersed in the dense and ornate decoration." The second is that because the five perfect causes of the tantra are complete, the meaning of the tantra appears in the face of those to be tamed, which is the rare time for the fortunate ones. The sixth is the compiler, who is the prince Vajrapani, holding the secret treasury of all the Tathagatas of the ten directions and four times. In the Ocean Text, it says, "Among the retinue, possessing supreme fortune, the time for taming has come, the secret lord Vajrapani, performed the compilation." And in the Core Text, it says, "The secret lord Vajrapani, with the uncommon and definitive tantra, compiled through implicit questions and answers, the blessings are famous in the human realm." This also comes from this very text, that is, "Vajra is the word of secrecy."
