It completely pervades all sentient beings to be tamed in all ten directions of the six realms of existence. Through the circumstances of the path, it becomes the sound of mantra. By liberating the unobstructed Vajra Speech, it is universally known. Secondly, the mandala of the speech of self-nature has three aspects: the nature of the five speeches, their functions, and their classifications. There are five aspects to the nature. First, the speech of unborn meaning: "Emaho, wondrous," etc., one verse. Emaho (Tibetan: ཨེ་མ་ཧོ།), by understanding the meaning of the inexpressible, it is a wondrous and most remarkable Dharma. How is it? The speech of the Dharmakaya, which pervades all perfect Buddhas, is the inexpressible speech that transcends all sounds, imputed names, and expressions. By opening understanding through this, it becomes the basis for the clear arising of various sounds. Second, the speech of expressed words: "One speech," etc., one verse. The secret of the Tathagata's speech manifests as one speech mandala, with sixty branches, etc. As summarized from the meaning stated in the Great Sutra: "The sound of Brahma, the sweet sound of the lute, song and dance, the sound of the Kalavinka bird and the dragon, like a sound image, are the six categories. Each of these also has ten branches, generating understanding. Discriminating awareness is worthy of hearing, without contradiction. Extremely profound and following, unwavering, pleasing to the ear, unconfused, and extremely secret, making sixty." These are also divided according to the capacities of the six types of beings to be tamed, resulting in three hundred and sixty, etc., which are inconceivable, pervading all realms, and communicating in their respective languages with sounds, names, and words appearing distinctly. All these appearances do not deviate from the profound and vast seal of speech, and therefore are supreme. Third, the speech of awareness and blessing: "The supreme of all tantras," etc., five lines. How does the meaning of the speech of self-awareness and wisdom, which possesses the great bliss as the result from the supreme of all tantras, the illusory net tantra of the union of skillful means and wisdom, arise? Since all the sounds of samsara and nirvana are free from the defilement of grasping and being grasped, like a lotus, all expressions of liberation, the path to liberation, and the sounds of bondage in samsara, are not defiled by characteristics, and therefore are the supreme of speech.

Because it appears in self-awareness without any obstruction, it is also called the speech of awareness or the speech of great bliss. Fourth, the indivisible Vajra speech is: six lines such as high and low vehicles. All the high and low vehicles of liberation, as well as the inverted heretics, and all sentient beings included in the six realms of beings, all the sounds of these are actually the nature of appearing emptiness and non-duality, originally enlightened, and are gathered into the Vajra speech. At the very moment of gathering, the sound that appears in the ten directions and makes it understood without moving from it, just as water does not stain a lotus, is spoken in a state of non-attachment, so it is liberated from the two extremes. At the very moment of unobstructed speech, because there is no attachment, it is unspeakable. Fifth, the speech of Brahma's melody is: five lines such as the unspeakable itself. That very speech of unspeakable meaning appears as the source of sounds of various languages, and appears as a consistent language to all those to be tamed. From this, they measure and understand the respective meanings. For example, just as when the Tathagata clears phlegm, the patient, doctor, householder, and woman each understand different meanings, the sound of one speech of the Tathagata understands all the dharmas that are in accordance with their respective thoughts, that is, one speech pervades all, it is the supreme king of speech, that is, the speech of Brahma's melody. Thus, it is also said in the Ratnakuta Sutra: The Buddhas' sound appears as one, heard separately by the power of faith. Just like this. Here, the symbolic speech of the Sambhogakaya has not appeared, so it is missing. Two speeches of the Nirmanakaya have appeared, so is it superfluous? If you ask this, the speech of the Sambhogakaya was explained in the previous sixth chapter: Thus the king of speech does not speak, the body measures and shows all dharmas. Because it has been explained, it is not mentioned here. Among the two speeches of the Nirmanakaya, the speech of words is that one word expresses one meaning, while the speech of Brahma's melody is that one word expresses multiple meanings, so there is no fault of being superfluous. Thus it is said. Second, the function of speech is: three lines such as high and low vehicles. Although in the appearance of the beings to be tamed, it appears as if countless high and low vehicles have been spoken, the Bhagavan has not spoken anything other than suchness, in order to tame the beings to be tamed.
