Or because of equality to all mothers. To symbolize that the Buddha's mind is naturally endowed with the four fearlessnesses, in the center is a lion throne; to contain the meaning of not falling into the lower vehicle, and to symbolize possessing the ten powers, in the east is an elephant throne; to quickly liberate sentient beings, and to symbolize possessing the four miraculous feet, in the south is a horse throne; to control afflictions without abandoning them, and to symbolize possessing the ten speech freedoms, in the west is a peacock throne; to symbolize that there is no attachment or obstruction in the activity of liberating sentient beings, in the north is a garuda, i.e., a shangshung throne; to symbolize that after practicing the eight vehicles, the mind possesses the qualities of the fruition, each of the lions, etc., is also eight, with their tails intertwined inward, thereby supporting the precious throne legs. Regarding this, the Empowerment King Tantra says: The mind destroys the four maras with the four fearlessnesses, as a sign of accomplishment, sit on a lion throne. The body subdues the ten non-virtues with the ten powers, as a sign of accomplishment, sit on an elephant throne. Merit liberates without attachment with the four miraculous feet, as a sign of accomplishment, sit on a supreme horse throne. Speech perfects the king's speech with the ten freedoms, as a sign of accomplishment, sit on a peacock throne. Activity liberates beings with the four activities, as a sign of accomplishment, sit on a shangshung throne. Thus it is said. The nature of mind is naturally pure and luminous, to symbolize the union of skillful means and wisdom, is the sun and moon disc; to symbolize that there is no defilement of faults, is the lotus; to symbolize fulfilling the wishes of sentient beings as desired, is the jewel throne; that is, to symbolize that the nature of the seven treasures is spontaneously accomplished, the throne legs supported by pillars are the seven-eyed treasury. Thus, the five-tiered thrones are the thrones of the main deity and the five families; for the other retinues, there are thrones suitable for their respective positions. For bodhisattvas, there are three tiers. As it is said, "The wrathful deity is a single sun, the peaceful deity is a single lotus." Although it is said that Samantabhadra and Samantabhadri are placed on four tiers when placed in the mandala, here, as an introduction, they are residing in the center of the palace, and in the Commentary on the Eye, it is also said to be a five-tiered throne. So, here not...

If you wonder where they reside, among the five kinds of expounders, in this chapter of the mind's illusion, Vajra Akshobhya resides in front of the sixth teacher. As it says in the ocean: "In the center of the burning wheel, the lord Samantabhadra turns the wheel of Dharma, the holder of the teachings resides in front, understanding without words." Also, as it says in the Tantra: "In the center of the wheel, above the fearless, when the lord Samantabhadra shows the illusion of all arising to the retinue, the king Akshobhya resides in front." The fifth is the perfect retinue, which is divided into two: the retinue of non-duality of nature and the retinue of special wisdom. The first is divided into two: the five fathers of the families and the five mothers. The first is from the Bhagavan Tathagata to the blazing one. This is because they have completed the qualities of abandonment and realization and do not abide in the two extremes, so they are called Bhagavan; because they have entered the realm of suchness, they are called Tathagata. These two names are common to the sixth teacher. As it says in "Sparkhab": "These two common names have been mentioned before." This shows that the seven natures of the teachers also transform into the nature of the five families, so they are called the retinue of non-duality of nature. Consciousness is the eight aggregates that distinguish objects. Form is the four causal forms and eleven resultant forms, totaling fifteen, which have the nature of being form. Feeling is the nature of experiencing, which is summarized by the three: pleasure, pain, and equanimity. Perception is the nature of grasping characteristics, which are the five: without characteristics, with characteristics, vast, small, and immeasurable. Volition is the mind that manifests and acts, namely the five omnipresent, the five object-specific, the eleven virtuous, the six root afflictions, the twenty secondary afflictions, and the four variable, totaling fifty-one mental factors. Excluding feeling and perception, the remaining forty-nine. In most scriptures and treatises, the beginning of the five aggregates is taught starting from the form aggregate. Why is consciousness mentioned first here? Because form and other phenomena are also the play of the mind…
