It is a symbol. The space nature of the five mothers is the perfect abode, the palace of Ogmin Dharmadhatu. The letter Va is a symbol of means, the perfect teacher of the six lineages. The dot of the letter Va is a symbol of union, the meaning of the union of means and wisdom, the base, path, and fruit are inseparably connected and continuous tantra, the essence of the secret essence of nature is the perfection of the teachings. Also, as it is said in the First Buddha: "In the center of E is the letter Vam, the place of happiness of all Buddhas, this Vajrasattva of space, because of the union of body, speech and mind, the dot is the moon, the semen is the body, the dust to be separated is speech, the letter A is dark, the mind is extremely spoken, the space realm dwells in E." Also, as it is said in the Two Examinations: "Whatever is the good aspect of E, the center is adorned with Vam, the abode of all happiness, the Buddha is a precious wish-fulfilling jewel." Also, as it is said in the Sutra Requested by the King of Gods: "The aggregate of eighty-four thousand dharmas, the root and parents of all, are well explained in two letters, the letter E is the mother and Va is called the father, the dot is combined there, the combination is very wonderful." and so on. E-vam is a symbol of the means and wisdom of all Tathagatas, so it must be placed at the beginning of all scriptures. As it is said in that sutra: "The two letters E-vam are like illusions, all the wise ones dwell here, for the beginning of teaching the holy Dharma, E-vam is therefore well explained." Ma is mana, which is wisdom, such as the King of Tathagata's Omniscience, etc. Or, in the common sutras, ma is explained as a letter representing memory, that is, स्मृति (Sanskrit Devanagari: smṛti, Sanskrit Romanization: smṛti, meaning: memory), through the karma of memory, not forgetting the meaning of the lineage, is the perfection of the retinue. Yana is from the sound of यादा (Sanskrit Devanagari: yādā, Sanskrit Romanization: yādā), meaning whenever, is the perfection of time, because it is a temporal word indicating when this tantra is spoken. The second is, as it is said: "The Dharmachakra is the place of Dharma, the four lights E etc. dwell in form, the indestructible dot has the form of Vam, reveals happiness to oneself, Manu mind etc. four consciousnesses, are summarized by the experience of wisdom, the form of wisdom space."

As stated in the Ocean of Tantras: "Born from the earth, the profound meaning of Paramartha, the time of bliss is free from before and after, it abides in the essence of all three times." The place symbolized by ཨེས་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Chinese literal meaning) is: In the heart chakra, known as Dharmacakra, there are eight root petals, which are condensed into four fundamental petals. In front is the Dharma nature wheel, a white circular light; on the right is the wisdom wheel, a yellow square; on the left is the merit wheel, a red crescent; behind is the self-nature wheel, a red-black triangle. With the differentiation of the four actions of ཨེ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Chinese literal meaning) and others, they have colors, because they are the dwelling place of the ultimate clear light, therefore it is the place. The teacher symbolized by ཝཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Chinese literal meaning) is: Abiding in the center of the five pure elements that rely on such a place, the indestructible bindu of the mind's pure essence exists in the form of the letter ཝཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Chinese literal meaning). Just like a lamp that does not need other illumination, it clearly shows bliss to itself, therefore it is the teacher. The retinue symbolized by མ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Chinese literal meaning) is: Derived from the word མ་ནུའི་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Chinese literal meaning), མ་ན་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Chinese literal meaning) means knowing, which is the eight aggregates of consciousness such as mind. The Dharma nature wheel is the Alaya consciousness, the wisdom wheel is the mind, the merit wheel is the afflicted mind, and the self-nature wheel is the place where the five sense consciousnesses abide. Because of experiencing these inexpressible, non-conceptual five wisdoms, therefore it is the retinue. The teaching symbolized by ཡ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Chinese literal meaning) is: Derived from the word ཡཱ་ན་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Chinese literal meaning), it is the unsurpassed Mahayana. Its key instruction is to generate the bliss-clear, non-conceptual wisdom through the means of upward guidance and downward taming, like the form of space, which is the word of Paramartha, that is, the supreme meaning, or the profound meaning, which is the teaching. Another explanation is that ཡ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Chinese literal meaning) is the abbreviation of the ending of the word Samaya, or the word ཡ་དཱའི་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Chinese literal meaning) also represents time, when bliss wisdom arises, because it is free from the conceptualization of grasping before and after, therefore the three times are equal, it is an inconceivable time. The third explanation is: As it is said, "Indicating closely with 'this,' the dwelling place of the four shapes such as ཨེ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Chinese literal meaning), named by the sound that clarifies, the ཝཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Chinese literal meaning) shape with bindu is the teacher. མ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Chinese literal meaning) and others are the total retention of mind, the consciousness with function is in them, it is explained by clearly knowing, the word བ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Chinese literal meaning) is the root of the ultimate truth, ཡཱ་ན་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Chinese literal meaning) is the Mahayana, time is the inconceivable time, ནཱ་མ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Chinese literal meaning) is the name." As stated in the Ash Tantra.
