It is only because of illusion. Having realized this, even if one kills beings in the ten directions, one will not be stained by sin. Because one has completed the accumulation of merit, the essence and merit of abandoning the precept of killing will be even more enhanced. The second is, "Truth," etc., one verse: In the way of all dharmas, both ultimate truth and conventional truth, since there is no distinction between self and other, there is no clinging in ultimate truth. In conventional terms, just as the gods of illusion take the enjoyment they have manifested themselves, when taking without being given, they take and use the self-manifested substance in a self-manifested way, but in reality there is no difference. Because there is no other object to be taken, and there is no substance that is possessed by him that is taken without being given. There is also no taking, and no matter what is taken, it will not go beyond one's own nature, so in the realm of non-duality, one realizes it as one taste. Having thus known that the self and others are inseparable, taking from stinginess and giving to the poor, etc., one will not be stained by sin. Because one has completed the accumulation of merit, the essence and merit of the precept of not taking what is not given will be even more enhanced. The third is, "All dharmas," etc., one verse: All dharmas are not as they appear, but are like illusions, merely false. Thus, when the meaning to be expressed is not established, fabricating with the names and words of the expresser, and clinging to it as such, is also false. Therefore, since all that is knowable and all that is to be expressed are not truly established, on the false itself, the false of the knower and the expresser is applied. If no dharma is truly established, then the false that depends on it is also not established, so the dharma called false exists only as a mere name. Having known this, even if one speaks falsehoods, one will not be stained by sin. Because one speaks as it benefits, one has completed the accumulation of merit, therefore the essence and merit of the precept of abandoning false speech will be even more enhanced. The fourth is, "Non-attachment," etc., one verse: On all dharmas, the non-dual appearance of object and mind is non-attachment wisdom. To this, when clinging to duality and attachment, one has the view of knowing non-duality, as well as the practice of having three thoughts, as well as the conduct of having skillful means, so one engages in the pleasure of sexual desire.

Even in the very moment when afflictions appear, there is not even a speck of the defilement of ordinary attachment; this is the supreme or the king of all immaculate discipline and pure conduct. All dharmas are utterly pure, liberated into the essence of self-aware awareness, the union of bliss and emptiness, which is the wisdom of great attachment and great bliss. Knowing this and practicing accordingly, one will not be stained by faults, and one will accomplish immaculate wisdom, etc. For the sake of perfecting the accumulations, the nature and qualities of the vow to abandon non-virtuous conduct are fully assembled. Secondly, there are three ways to briefly explain the categories of vows: the root vows, the branch vows, and explaining the definitions of these two. The first is the six lines beginning with "Supreme," etc. Regarding this, From the "Clear Illumination of Vows": "Two kinds of Bodhicitta, six masters, four companions, three mantras, four mudras, the ten secrets should be known as the root." Thus, among the root vows, there are five: Not abandoning the Supreme, the object is the supreme Bodhicitta, the ultimate truth and the relative truth. The way not to abandon it is to realize that the ultimate and relative truths are inseparable, and that body, speech, and mind do not stray from the mudras of the deity's body, speech, and mind. Honoring the Lama, the object is the general Lama who is revered as sacred by all and from whom one has received a slight kindness; the guiding Lama, such as an ordained Khenpo; the Vow-Empowerment Lama who transmits vows and bestows empowerment; the Lama who makes amends for broken vows, who has become the object of confession; the Sutra-Unbinding Lama, such as the teacher who expounds the scriptures; and the Oral Instruction Lama who shows oral instructions and transmits the transmissions. The "Clear Illumination" says: "General, Guiding, Vow-Empowerment, Making Amends for Breaks, Sutra-Unbinding, Oral Instruction are the six Lamas." In particular, the three—receiving empowerment, explaining the tantras, and receiving oral instructions—are the Lamas who are especially worthy of honor. The way to honor them is to accomplish whatever pleases the Lama with body, speech, and mind, without deceit. Not interrupting the continuum of mantras and mudras, the object is the three mantras and four mudras. The "Clear Illumination" says: "Root Generation and Action Mantra, Vow Action and Dharma, Body itself is the Great Mudra Four." For these, one should exert great effort like the flow of a river, or perform six or four sessions of yoga within a single day.
