Yes, indeed. Asked: Why not proceed? Answer: Because all have gone on the path of the Buddha. Asked: What is the analogy for the essence of enlightenment, the heart of a noble being? Answer: There is no analogy for a virtuous friend, no analogy can compare to it. Asked: Is there no analogy? Answer: If a slightly similar analogy is taken, it is like this: like the sky, like the sun, like a precious jewel, like precious gold, like a lamp, like poison-transforming medicine, like gold-transforming medicine, like beryl, like the great ocean, like the essence of stone, like being subdued by skill, like entering a realm, like gold, stone, and jewels, like generating great joy, and so on. Asked: What names are used to represent the essence of enlightenment, the heart of a noble being? Answer: The name of a virtuous friend is an honorific, but there is no fixed name. Asked: Can it not be represented by a name? Answer: From that which is completely imperceptible, if it is represented in terms of speech, then it is said to be established as the different names of the eye, such as the very essence of enlightenment, that very essence, that very only, suchness, as it is, not mistaken, not artificial, not other, the nature of phenomena, the realm of phenomena, inconceivable, the ultimate truth, Guhyamantra (Tibetan: གསང་སྔགས།,Sanskrit Devanagari: ,IAST: ,Literal meaning: Secret Mantra), Dharani (Tibetan: གཟུངས་སྔགས།,Sanskrit Devanagari: ,IAST: ,Literal meaning: Holding Mantra), Vidyāmantra (Tibetan: རིག་སྔགས།,Sanskrit Devanagari: ,IAST: ,Literal meaning: Knowledge Mantra), and Mahayana, as it is widely known. Asked: How does the essence of enlightenment, the heart of a noble being, appear? Answer: The essence of enlightenment cannot possibly appear even for a moment. Asked: Does it not appear anywhere? Answer: It appears as it is seen. Asked: How does it fully appear? Answer: Like this: Because it pervades everything, it is without appearance. Nothing is hidden, so there is nothing to see. It has never been separated from the beginning, so it is not known. If examined, it is not seen, yet it appears. Various appearances, yet without substance. Wandering in samsara, yet without separation from emptiness. Various doors, yet without change. Without a particle of dust, yet pervading existence. From emptiness, various things arise. Without substance, yet attached to everything.

Do. Without a place, what is accomplished, is accomplishment itself. Without form, what is seen, is appearance itself. Without anything, what is known, is knowing itself. All-pervading, vast, complete, one, is infinite. Completely detached, single, nothing is abandoned. Without outer and inner, all is inner itself. Though infinitely arising, it is inexhaustible. Without grasping, without thinking, where does it abide. Without burden, it constantly falls. Without lifting, it goes in the sky. Without limbs, it traverses all the lands. Without moving anywhere, it goes everywhere. Without moving, it is unobstructed and swift. Though appearing as different, it does not move from the one. Not moving from the one, it appears as various. Entering all, therefore it is the path. Not abandoning anything, therefore it is samsara. Because of not knowing and being confused, it is sentient beings. Crossing the four rivers, therefore it is the boat. Completely moving is traversing. Without an object is enlightenment. Because of various forms, it is mind itself. Being skilled in everything is wisdom. Illuminating everything is samadhi. Going without traversing is the place itself. Without equal is the excellent itself. Being wonderful is the supreme itself. Being completely superior is the outstanding itself. Without power and antidote is the unsurpassed itself. Not finding the bottom is the profound itself. Being immeasurable is the secret itself. Being subtle is the unclear itself. Arising from everything is dharma. Not changing is suchness itself. Having the status is the bodhisattva. Constantly cool and pervasive is the Buddha itself. Being the basis is the root itself. Giving birth to everything is the mother itself. Arising from that is the father itself. Holding the lineage is the son itself. Being self-arisen is the lord itself. Being suchness is the great lineage itself. Being difficult to overcome is the great commitment itself. Completely living is the life itself. Not knowing exhaustion is the great treasure itself. Accomplishing desires is the wealth itself. With constant compassion doing all the work is the servant itself. Being completely majestic is the body itself. Speech arising is the speech itself. Knowing everything is the mind itself. Arising from all desires is the quality itself. Doing the work is the activity itself. Contemplating on the object is the desire itself. Enjoying that itself is the great enjoyment itself. Constant
