O Lord, to recognize the Suchness of Mind is a great matter of the land! Thus spoke the Lord of Secrets, and all became the path of liberation into the Suchness of Vajrasattva. The ninth chapter, which reveals the Suchness of Vajrasattva, from the Great Sutra of the Gathering of the Intentions of All Buddhas, is complete. Then again, the Lord of Lanka asked the Lord of Secrets: O Lord of Secrets, what is the realm of activity of the Suchness of Mind, which is the essence of secret mantras? He replied: O Lord of Lanka, that is the realm of activity of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, but not of those who abide on the ground and on the ground. Why is that? Because it is difficult to examine, difficult to show, and free from all terms of expression. Again, the Lord of Lanka asked: O Lord of Secrets, if the Suchness of Mind, the essence of secret mantras, is not shared with others except for the realm of activity of those who are supreme, then if those yogis who are to be practiced also look at the Suchness of Mind and search everywhere in the continuum of Mind, then at that time they will not see the inner Mind, nor will they see the outer Mind, nor will they see the inner and outer Mind. Where they do not see Mind in the aggregates, they do not see it in the elements, they do not see it in the sources. He does not see Mind, and if he looks at where this Mind comes from, then he thinks like this: Because there is an object, Mind arises. He also thinks like this: Is that object something else? Is the mind something else? Is that object Mind itself? Is the mind itself the object? If the object is something else, and the mind is something else, then Suchness is not one, but becomes two. But if it is one, then looking at the traces of Mind with Mind, Mind should not see Mind. For example, just as a sword cannot cut itself, and the tip of a finger cannot touch itself, so Mind cannot be directed by Mind, and when viewed in this way, it is seen as follows: Where there is no attachment, Mind has no abode, no support, is not annihilation, is not permanent, is not accumulated, is not produced from cause, is not generated by conditions, is not from that, is not from food, that

It is not self. It is not other. It has no caste. It has no cause. It does not regress. It does not appear. Seeing the absence of inherent existence as it is. True. Unwavering. Solitary. Not seeing even a little. Not seeing completely. Not discriminating. Not discriminating completely. Not moving. Not thinking. Not rejoicing. The mind is formless. Whatever arises is also formless. Because whatever has formlessness, enlightenment also has formlessness. The nature of mind is enlightenment. The nature of enlightenment is all phenomena. The nature of all phenomena is suchness. This mind is so swift. Extremely swift. Not abiding. Wandering. Like a monkey. Like the wind. Like a mirage. Like a stream of water. Like a flame. Like a body. Going far. Not wavering anywhere. Returning. The object of the six realms. All-knowing. Uniquely capable. Not arising. All arising. Abiding in peace. Not different, not one, not distracted. Completely distracted, knowing the mind equally in the three poisons. Knowing the mind as suchness. Just as one knows one's own mind, so also one knows the minds of others. Just as one's own mind is empty, so also one knows all minds to be empty. Just as one knows one's own mind to be equal, so also one knows all minds to be equal. Therefore, one knows all phenomena to be equal. Because all phenomena are equal, one knows enlightenment to be equal. Therefore, one knows the mind to be the realm of all phenomena. The realm of all is not common, thus abiding in the mind, acting in the mind. Having power over the mind, observing the mind. Seeing the mind, recognizing the mind, why is the Lord of Secrets only the object of the holy ones, and not the object of the earth-dwellers? The Lord of Secrets said: Lord of Lanka, it is so, but they, from all to all, only determine the suchness of the mind as the nature of the cause, and do not fully understand its result. Why is that? For example, the earth and the earth-dwellers are completely contained in the expanse of the four nets. What are the four? That is, the great net and the net of nets, and the half net and the one net. Furthermore, there are children and madmen, and those with little understanding, and
