How, in what way should the Buddha's teachings be viewed? They should also be seen as permanent, and also as impermanent. They appear as arising, and there are objects. This Buddha's teaching is connected with attachment, it is said to be connected with hatred, connected with ignorance, connected with pride, connected with jealousy, connected with the five heinous crimes, connected with the near five heinous crimes, connected with the four heavy sins, and also connected with the eight wrong views. Furthermore, this great assembly is like this: connected with killing, connected with taking what is not given, connected with sexual misconduct, connected with lying, connected with divisive speech, connected with harsh speech, connected with idle talk, connected with covetousness, connected with malice, connected with wrong views. Therefore, great assembly, those who wish to practice these Buddha's teachings should train in this path, should know it, should become accustomed to it, and should make it emptiness. This was spoken by the noble Vajra Mind. From the Great King of Tantras, the Vajra Arrangement, the All-Encompassing Wisdom Sutra, the first chapter, the Nature of Yoga. Then, the great assembly of the gathered multitude there, having made wonderful prostrations in the manner of yoga, requested the noble Vajra Mind, saying: Great Mind Hero, Lion of Speech, we are very eager to ask you, please grant us the opportunity. After they had requested this, the Lion of Speech spoke these words: Great assembly, please ask whatever you wish to ask, generate courage and ask what you wish to ask. After he had spoken these words, the great assembly requested: Alala Ho! Great Lion of Speech, we wish to follow the great meaning of the Nature of Yoga that you have extensively explained. How many doors are there to enter this? What is the method? How is the path smooth? Please explain the meaning of this extensively, Great Mind Hero. After they had requested this, the Lion of Speech said: Friends, good, very good! Certainly good! These questions you have asked are very wonderful, they are a clear and vast door for entering all the Dharma.

(Therefore,) please listen respectfully, I will explain clearly. Then, in the Dharma assembly, I will clearly explain opening the doors of all Dharmas with the lion's roar. This door of the Buddha's Dharma, although numerous and inconceivable, if summarized, is clearly threefold: the door of entering through effort, the door of means for accomplishment, and the door of ultimate fruition. The first also has three: the door of characteristic means, the entrance of the Sage's lineage, and the secret door of accomplished scriptures. It is said that each of these doors has three. The second door also has three: the door of wisdom realization, the door of meditative familiarity, and the door of accomplished aspiration. Finally, for the door of ultimate fulfillment, it is called the door of threefold liberation. The path of entry is also like this, clearly explained as three saints: the Vinaya Pitaka of the great guide, the entrance of the great Sage, and the three treasuries of the great Saint. The method of entry is also like this, from method arises method, there are three methods: through meaning, letters, and meditation, whichever way one examines, is the saint of the path of entry. Entering in accordance with meaning, meaning is the essence of Dharmata, the mind that enters in accordance is the mind, when the mind is joined with Dharma, it is said that there are ten ways. What are these ten ways? The stage of arising desire, the stage of combining effort, the stage of entering learning, the stage of changing perception, the stage of entering great union, the stage of feeling taste, the stage of entering the object, the stage of arriving at great realization, the stage when that itself becomes confidence, and the stage of being able to act, these ten. In each of these ten stages, when the mind and Dharma meet, a realization Bodhicitta arises. What is Bodhicitta? Its number is also tenfold: wavering Bodhicitta, likewise, aspirational Bodhicitta, arising great Bodhicitta, likewise, combining Bodhicitta, entering mind and virtuous mind, unchanging and awareness, abiding and perfection. Because it is called Bodhicitta, there are ten minds.
