And all the assembled retinue, including myself, were satisfied in their own minds, and with the prostration of the crown of their heads, in the manner of yoga, they faced the Lord of Secrets and proclaimed this inconceivable exclamation: Emaho! From the supreme sphere of equality, which is wonderful and amazing, Great compassion shines forth, unmixed and all-pervading. The mandala of body, speech, mind, qualities, activity, and mudras is beyond words. The compassion that emanates from the countless sentient beings and their countless thoughts is emaho! How wonderful! Ema! Wonderful and amazing is the Dharma! From that which is equal to the sky, The various magical transformations Manifest only as conventional reality. Thus, they spoke with special emphasis. Then, the Bhagavan, the Lord of Secrets, contemplated the sphere of equality of the four times and remained silent. Then, Vajra Mind Samantabhadra again arose from his seat and made this request: Bhagavan, Lord of Secrets, please summarize the meaning of this sutra and explain it to us. Please explain the meditation of the Sugata. Then, again, the Lord of Secrets arose from the sphere of Dharma, And with his miraculous eyes, he gazed upon the mandala of the retinue, And with a smile on his face, he looked at Vajra Samantabhadra, And spoke these words: Then, great Bodhisattvas, listen! I shall summarize and explain the meaning of the Dharma of this King of Tantras. Emaho! All dharmas are illusions of the mind, Apart from the mind, there is not even a single dharma. In order to dispel illusion, the Victorious Ones taught the Dharma, And the magical, illusory appearances thereof. All the dharmas that appear from illusion and from illusion itself, Are one's own mind; they are merely appearances of the mind. The nature of the mind is not established as a real entity; From beginning to end, the nature of the mind is completely nonexistent. Primordially unborn, primordially pure, Without letters, devoid of sound and concepts, Emptiness itself transcends the realm of emptiness. Therefore, the mind is the root of Dharma, That very root appears as samsara and liberation. Ho! Emaho! From the very sphere of the mind's emptiness, Where are there places, teachers, and retinues?

Samadhi, letters, mudras, perfection, and ways of abiding are countless. There is no emptiness, compassion, or arising of bodhichitta. There is no form, and samadhi is free from thought. There are no mantras or mudras, nor is there taming through compassion. There are no untamable beings to tame, and there is no wrathful mandala. There is no way of emptying the essence, and there is no constant samadhi. There is no action, and it transcends all vows. All of these are mere labels, but in reality, they do not exist. To dispel confusion, they are only shown in relative truth. Therefore, rely well on this teaching, and understand the certainty of ultimate truth. The nature of the Dharma that transcends the mind transcends all words, letters, and labels. There is no similar example to represent it. Therefore, all those teachings are obstacles. The wise one without characteristics will not waver in faith in it. The wise one with the two truths only appears in the mind. Thus it was said. The retinue rejoiced greatly. All the assembled retinue thought about the meaning of suchness and remained silent and still. Then, the Bhagavan, the Lord of Secrets, placed a crossed vajra of action on the lotus tongue of the Vajra Mind Samantabhadra, empowered it as the Vajra Dharma, blessed it to gather the meaning, and then spoke: Great Bodhisattva, since I attained complete enlightenment, I have not spoken a single word until I taught this sutra. Why is that? Because all dharmas are separate from speech and expression. The Buddhas of the ten directions and four times attained complete enlightenment after understanding the meaning that is separate from speech and expression. Therefore, in order for future faithful yogis to easily realize and understand the meaning that is separate from expression, this sutra is taught and spoken. Great Bodhisattva, for the benefit of future yogis, condense the meaning of this sutra and make it appear in the letters of the spoken Dharma so that it will not be destroyed. However, those faithful yogis will delve into the essence of the Vajrayana and will become great lineage holders of the power of yoga. Great Bodhisattva, therefore, this sutra is a great shortcut for yogis.
