Those who greatly manifested their own pride, such as the twenty-eight kinds of bamboo, became peaceful and subdued. Having seized their respective powers, they came to have faith in this Buddha's teaching and gathered together. At that time, the light of the Bodhicitta pervaded everywhere, and those who were immersed in unconsciousness and cessation were like seeds burned by fire. They were also empowered by the immaculate and precious water of Bodhicitta, and having received the empowerment of Bodhicitta, they came to benefit beings. Furthermore, those who abide in the distinctions of the earth also developed a sense of weariness towards their respective realms, stopped the bondage of karma, and thus had great faith in the Buddha's teachings.
