Then, offer the white offering to the hand of the Lama. Because of holding onto the evil deeds of the corpse, counting them countless times, burn the black marked slips of paper in the expanse of the fire of wisdom. Perform the ritual of fire offering. Who is the deity of fire? The Buddha of fire is Amitabha. The goddess of fire is the white-clad one. She is the supreme light of all Buddhas, controls the fire element, and is the master of warmth for all. She has vowed to burn the three realms. For the activity of burning samsara, she will not deviate from the power of her commitment. All fire rituals should be directed to the Great White Mother (Avalokiteśvara). Then, when all the rituals are complete, are the obscurations of the corpse purified or not? Are the accomplishments of fire attained or not? The wise one in fire should examine as before. If unpleasant signs appear, then perform the burning purification ritual extensively. If pleased, then attain accomplishment. Tie up the great ashes of the corpse and accomplish the nectar of ashes. By this, immeasurable great merit will be obtained. Thus it was said.
