All places will be accomplished. Excellent substances will be obtained, and wondrous things will also be found. These are auspicious omens. Wherever one goes to assemble, one will be honored and loved by all, and pleasing to all minds. One will subdue all and become the supreme ruler over all. These are great omens. Dreams of auspicious signs will also appear very extensively; yogis should know this. The omens of purifying habitual tendencies are: always appearing naked, always performing great ablutions, all impurities being cleansed, crossing rivers, swimming in lakes, being washed by continuous rain, others pouring water from full vases onto one's body, being burned by great flames, being scattered by the wind from very high peaks. These are the signs of purifying habitual tendencies. The omens of being free from fear are: returning from battle, being healed from illness, being released from prison, escaping from the hands of executioners, escaping from wild animals, being cured from poisoning, being freed from bonds, ropes being cut. These are omens of auspicious signs. The omens of obtaining lands are: climbing thrones, climbing ordinary stairs, climbing trees, ascending very high, climbing mountain peaks, climbing jeweled stairs, climbing stupas, climbing sky ladders. These are omens of benefit. The omens of conquering lands are: sitting on a high throne, riding elephants, riding lions, riding great garudas, going to stupas, sitting on mountain peaks, sitting in the sky, clouds emanating from the body, sitting on the moon, sitting on the sun. What victories, what self-becoming king, what flowers growing on the head, these are signs of becoming the son of the victor. The preliminary signs of obtaining power over the Dharma are: finding profound scriptures, similarly, many questions arising, and researching these questions, explaining and demonstrating them to others, ultimately determining their meaning, looking in mirrors, observing and tasting what fills a crystal vase, collecting precious gems, a wheel falling into one's hand, grasping the sun and moon with one's hands, Mount Meru rotating on one's head, these are preliminary signs of obtaining power over the Dharma. The preliminary signs of seeing the truth are: Seeing sights never seen before, seeing the vast three thousand worlds, continents moving to other places, Mount Meru moving to one's mouth, seeing the vast sky, entering the depths of the ocean, holding a lamp in one's hand, gazing at the essence of the sun, examining phenomena and existence, these are great signs of obtaining power over the Dharma. The preliminary signs of receiving prophecy are: hearing the sounds of musical instruments, hearing the sound of thunder, hearing the roar of a lion, hearing the sound and talk of the Dharma, the face of an image smiling, hearing the Buddha's voice but not seeing the Buddha's body, a goddess singing, sounds emanating from palaces, calling out "friend, friend," and engaging in Dharma debates, these are preliminary signs of receiving prophecy. These and other signs are great signs that universally appear, and for those who are initially engaged in practice, the respective levels of awareness-holders are signs of transformation. For those who are initially engaged in yoga practice, whichever of these great signs may appear, one should eliminate all the noise of samsara, understand their meaning, and purify the various levels. Thus, one will touch the truth, and through the blessings of understanding the truth, the awareness-holder Vajra will be spontaneously accomplished. When the awareness-holder abides in a certain level and practices great power in that level, various miracles of power will arise. Being able to ride the sun and moon, lifting Mount Meru from the waist, throwing the world far away, destroying the flames of the eon's end, and so on, all these miracles, in particular, can be demonstrated through power.
