It dissolves into the state of (emptiness). Even if you do good, what benefit is there to the mind? Even if you do evil, what harm is there to the mind? Like clouds clearing in the clear sky. Where is there a possibility of rebirth? By the fruit of that habitual tendency. It is realizing that nothing exists. From the Great Extensive Jewel Scripture, the twenty-fifth chapter on the erroneous views of nihilistic heretics. The Secret Lord Vajrasattva, the gatherer, To the Teacher of Teachers, Samantabhadra, Asked about the scripture of erroneous views of heretical talk, The basis of error, and the view of realization, How are meditation, conduct, and the result? The Teacher of Teachers, Samantabhadra, To the Secret Lord Vajrasattva, the gatherer, Taught: From the Dharmakaya's nature of nothingness, That which is neither something nor nothing, yet appears as everything, That appearance and the essence of the body, If one does not see them as one but sees them as different, By seeing different appearances, one creates the cause of error. From that very appearance that arises from it, The outer emptiness is seen as like the sky. Since inner awareness is not established anywhere, That awareness is also seen as like the sky. On awareness itself and the power of awareness, One makes the basis of heretical talk and error. With the essence of awareness abiding in emptiness, And the self-radiance of awareness being without nature, The nature of mind abiding in emptiness, And the mind also seeing objects as empty, These two are similar, of the same kind, and gather together alike, That creates the basis of heretical error. The nature of that mind, Even if searched for, cannot be found. The essence of that mind is not established at all. Therefore, one realizes that there is no doer and nothing to be done. Although all phenomena of appearance are completely without remainder, However appearance appears, it does not stain the mind. Mind and object are realized as two different things. The essence of that mind is not to be seen or meditated upon. Since there is no stain on the mind, one can engage with objects as one pleases. Thus, one realizes the arising that comes from causes. The essence of mind abides in that way. Realizing that it comes from causes is the heretic of arising. Realizing arising in that way is the heretic of arising. The result being accomplished in that way is the heretic of having arisen and abiding. Since the cause itself arises erroneously, realization arises erroneously. Since realization arises erroneously, view and meditation arise erroneously. The result arises erroneously and abides. Precious.
