Do not cling to anything. The meditation without something to meditate on is the meditation of meaning without an object. The meditation with something to meditate on is the Dharma of an object-oriented characteristic. It is not meditation, but the illusion of grasping and being grasped. Meditating in a state without object-oriented characteristics, is the Sambhogakaya of luminosity without grasping. The great perfection of self-arisen wisdom is manifested. The signs and measures of its definitive realization are: As actual signs, the three of body, speech, and mind, Everything is seen by nature, and the body also, The speech is frank, and unlearned Dharma words come. In the mind, clairvoyance arises without obstruction. The devotion to the Lama becomes especially great. As signs of experience, one's own body turns into light. One's own sounds appear like echoes in the rocks. The mind becomes clear light, and the body appears. The measure of experience, appearance, and emptiness being liberated in meaning. The increase and decrease of appearances do not appear as objects, Seeing only the state of light is the measure. In the nature of emptiness, without clinging to anything, Realizing that the essence itself is liberated in its own place. If there is no difference between day and night, and it is grasped in dreams, Then one reaches the level of experience in the emptiness of Dharmata. If one cherishes this state for three years, then the contaminated, Aggregates will not appear, and one will awaken as the Sambhogakaya. If one has not reached the measure, one will be liberated in the Bardo. Experience and appearance increase and decrease and are exhausted, then one reaches the measure. Because the Dharmata is empty and clear, the Sambhogakaya is manifested, The Dharmata is not established by words, but is accomplished through experience, Emaho! Since the essence of the mind is emptiness, If an ordinary person does not realize this, Then proclaiming the instructions for it in words, The experience of the emptiness of mind itself arises spontaneously, Without understanding the experience of the inseparability of Dharmadhatu and wisdom, If one clings to experience, one goes astray in characteristics. If one clings to characteristics, even if one clings to it as Dharma, it is a mistake. If there is clinging, then even emptiness becomes form. Because appearances are not liberated into emptiness, If one does not realize the meaning of the inseparability of appearance and emptiness, Then it is conventional truth, and one falls into the extremes of permanence and annihilation. Even if one knows appearances as mind, one is not liberated, The clear light of self-arisen wisdom is not seen and is obscured. In order to realize that meaning, it is determined by meditation. Whatever arises, whether it is the experience of seeing, feeling, or knowing, Without being distracted on top of it, meditate on that itself. Through meditation, that itself disappears without clinging. Illusion and non-illusion are of the same essence, Because the mind stream is not established as two in going, By leaving the mind itself uncorrected in its own place, For example, on the water of a mirage

Just that! Like a mirage without water, it vanishes and goes. If there is water, it won't not disappear like that. The arising of experiences, even if they appear as real things, Just examining and analyzing them in themselves, They dissolve into emptiness, without foundation or root. If it were a real thing, how could it possibly arise? The moon in water is clear, but the sky cannot be grasped. Experiences are clear, but an object to grasp is not established. Without grasping, it is clear, yet it is emptiness. Because it is emptiness, it arises unceasingly in any way. Even when it arises, it arises emptily within emptiness itself. Self-arising, self-liberating, like water and water waves. Though various things arise, the mind itself dissolves into emptiness. In emptiness itself, there are no things or characteristics. Though there is nothing, it is clear, so it is like the sky. The sky is unceasing, clouds and rainbows arise. Even when they arise, they dissolve into the sky within the nature of the sky. Likewise, these appearances arise in the mind. They abide in the expanse of the mind and dissolve into the mind. The mind itself is not established as anything, empty in essence. The nature of emptiness is clear and without obstruction. Unobstructed, utterly pure, that is the mind itself. In the beginning, there is no place of arising, empty of cause. In the middle, there is no place of birth, empty of condition. In the end, there is no place of cessation, empty of essence. The three poisons are without before or after, equally empty. Without shape or color, empty of essence. Without beginning or end, without going or coming, empty of nature. Appearances cannot be defined, empty of characteristics. The mind has no inside or outside, grasping and being grasped are empty. The mind has no things, the view of permanence is empty. Clear and without obstruction, the view of annihilation is empty. Without edge, center, direction, or part, both are empty. Without direction, beyond calculation, both are empty. Without near or far, relatives are empty. Never established from the beginning, self is empty. Never changing from the beginning, emptiness is empty. Thus, in the nature of emptiness itself, In the minds of sentient beings, experiences are clear and aware, Yet there is not even a particle of characteristic things in it. Past appearances are like bird tracks in the sky. Present appearances are like the insubstantial sky. Future appearances are like an indivisible realm. The three times are without arising or ceasing, from the very beginning, One should know the way things are, as they have always been. The mind of emptiness, equal in the three times, Without birth, death, or change, it is like the sky. Without edge, center, direction, or part, it is like the sky. Whatever is empty, without clarity or diminution, it is like the sky. All-pervading, indefinable, it is like the sky.
