It is the power of your own original mother! Thus he spoke. From the Precious Eye-Clearing Tantra, the thirteenth chapter, the chapter on the power of mother and child. How is the understanding of view and practice? Please, King of Wisdom, explain. Just as you are, listen to me, assembly. Understanding the view is to arise in the nature of emptiness and wisdom. Understanding the practice is to realize the unbroken stream of wisdom without dualistic clinging. Understanding the conduct is for the King of Wisdom to be without clinging, holding onto anything. Understanding the result is to realize cause and effect as one, the spontaneously accomplished fruit. Understanding the essence is that from one essence, various signs and appearances arise, the top of the indestructible victory banner. Understanding the limit is that all are without separation, the limit of the expanse. Thus he spoke. From the Precious Eye-Clearing Tantra, the fourteenth chapter, the chapter on understanding. How is the reversed intention of view and practice? Please, King of Wisdom, explain. The King of Wisdom spoke: Just as you are, listen to me, assembly. Abandoning is better than entering. Knowing is greater than seeing. Distraction is clearer than meditation. Forgetting is more virtuous than practicing. Abiding is more beneficial than accomplishing. Eating is more intimate than offering. Killing is easier than saving. Thus he spoke. From the Precious Eye-Clearing Tantra, the fifteenth chapter, the chapter on reversed intention. How are the realms of yoga nourished? Please, King of Wisdom, remain steadfast. The King of Wisdom spoke: Just as you are, show me, assembly. Nourish with fire and sun, the essence that is close to the body. Nourish the delusions with walking, serving, constancy, pleasantness, and bathing. Nourish the demons of mountaintops, activities, and retinue. Nourish with faith, diligence, intelligence, and wisdom. Nourish with meditation, practice, essence, and the gathering of friends. One who is skilled in all aspects of living and practice is a great yogi. Thus he spoke. From the Precious Eye-Clearing Tantra, the sixteenth chapter, the chapter on nourishing the realms. How is the nature of the essence? Please, King of Wisdom, explain. The King of Wisdom spoke: Just as you are, listen to me, assembly. The essence of earth is precious jewels, treetops, and the essence of outer grains. The inner essence is the unhidden essence of sentient beings. The essence of water is salt, moon, and blood. The essence of fire is sun, clouds, and warmth. The essence of wind is sound and breath. The essence of the elements is space, colors, and time. The essence of dharmata is appearance, keenness, and mind.
