Thus it is. The example of self-cognizant wisdom is like realgar and light. The example of self-arisen wisdom is like a vajra. The example of the wisdom of difficult-to-surpass intention is like the clear seal of a king abiding in the law. Thus it was said. From the Great Luminosity of Bindu, the sixth chapter, which summarizes and explains the meaning of wisdom, is completed. Then, the Teacher again declared: In all the tantras and agamas I have taught, if it is said that all things arise, that is the wisdom of the ground. If it is said to be empty of substance, that is the wisdom of the Dharmadhatu. If it is said to be without cessation, that is mirror-like wisdom. If it is said to be non-dual, that is the wisdom of equality. If it is said to be unmixed and complete, and if the lineages are separately and clearly stated, that is the wisdom of separate understanding. If it is said that there is no obstruction anywhere, that is the wisdom of accomplishing activities. If it is said to be free from extremes, that is the great wisdom of non-abiding. If it is said that awareness is luminous, and if it is said to be self-aware, that is the great wisdom of awareness. If it is said to be unchanging and unconditioned, and if the words are like a vajra, that is explained as great self-arisen wisdom. If it is said to be unsurpassable, and if it is impossible to surpass, and if it is not surpassed, then the syllables are pressed upon the wisdom of difficult-to-surpass intention. Thus it was said. From the Tantra of the Great Luminosity of Bindu, the seventh chapter, which explains the words that represent wisdom, is completed. The mantra for the essence of the sun, where light and rays are uninterrupted: dha a sha a ra ra ratna kala para sara dha dhu. The Bhagavan entered into the intention of the power of compassion. Then, again, the Lord of Secrets, knowing the Teacher's intention, asked: The Dharmakaya is one, but appears as many. Please explain how the play of awareness arises. Thus he asked. The Teacher declared: Awareness is insubstantial and transparent; emptiness and non-cessation are inseparable. There, knowing without obstruction, the five wisdoms arise spontaneously. The self-radiance of Dharmadhatu wisdom is clear dark blue in the state of emptiness. The self-radiance of mirror-like wisdom is clear white in the state of non-cessation. The self-radiance of equality wisdom is clear yellow in the state of non-duality. The self-radiance of discriminating wisdom is clear red in the state of knowing. The self-radiance of accomplishing activity wisdom is clear green in the unobstructed space. These five arise in the space of Dharmata, and are called the arising of wisdom light. By realization, body and wisdom

Appearances. When not realized, appearances arise as both container and contents. For example, in a clear mirror, whatever encounters it as a condition appears, yet at the time of appearance, it is not stained. Although unstained, it appears as such. Similarly, in the wisdom dharmakaya, qualities arise unceasingly and in various ways. Although they arise, they remain solely in self-awareness. Remaining in oneness, there is no multiplicity. In all times and circumstances, it abides in the great purity of non-existence. It abides in unobstructed clarity, transparent and clear. The appearance of the two form bodies is also self-appearing, unceasing, and utterly pure. Thus it is said. From the Great All-Illuminating Bindu, the chapter on the arising of the function of wisdom and the manifestation of the utterly pure function, the eighth chapter is complete. Then, again, the Lord of Secrets asked: Please speak the words of that vision. The Teacher replied: In all definitive tantras and agamas, when the word "function" appears, it should be explained as follows: The function of wisdom is the five wisdoms. The function of that is the five lights. The function of the five lights is the five elements. The function of the five elements is to arise separately. This is taught as both outer and inner. The inner and outer bindu is called function. Thus, it is explained as appearance, ability, and power. It arises through such appearance. Because it does not arise from others but is self-arisen, it is self-arisen because it arises from qualities. Because it arises in this way, it is self-arisen. Qualities are also called that. All arising and universal arising, and the many that arise from wisdom, appear in this way because they appear in wisdom. They appear as the five kayas and as the five realms. Thus, they appear as heroes and heroines. Likewise, the activity of compassion appears. Similarly, various appearances appear. It is taught as being like an illusion, appearing without inherent existence, and clear without conceptualization. If it is said like that, function appears without inherent existence. All are self-appearing and self-arisen, thus it is said. From the Great All-Illuminating Bindu, the chapter on teaching the words that represent function, the ninth chapter is complete. Then, again, the Lord of Secrets asked: Teacher, great compassionate one, what is the essence of function? What is its definitive word and distinction? What is its example? The Teacher replied: The essence of function is unceasing. The definitive word of function is that it possesses the power of arising, therefore it is called function. The distinction is that wisdom itself appears as both samsara and nirvana. The example is like one sun appearing as many suns, or the rays of the sun being unceasing, or like potent poison, camphor, or lightning.
