Without other appearances, self-luminous, Especially endowed with the radiance of wisdom. Space is without pervasiveness, hence it is radiant. The five degenerations of the elements are liberated within the five lights. The five lights dissolve into the realm of purity. Likewise, the signs also change in sequence. Thus it is said. From the Great Tantra of Dispelling Elaborations and Clarifying Meaning, the twenty-third chapter, which explains the characteristics of the elements and elucidates the meaning by combining the manner of arising and the manner of dissolving. Then the Lord of Secrets asked: Kye Kye, Bhagavan Vajradhara! Inhabiting the five elements, What is known as a kalpa, Please explain its meaning. Thus he asked. Then the Teacher spoke again: Kye Kye, Vajra Holder, listen! The essence of a kalpa is shown as: First, the realm of wisdom arises, Appearing as the arising object and the arising subject, First, in time, it is the nature of reality kalpa. With the conceptual thought of grasping at self, The appearance of wisdom dissolves inward, It is said to be the kalpa of the container world. Finally, it is the kalpa in the two, grasper and grasped. Buddhas and sentient beings are likewise kalpas. It is with defining words and reasons. The divisions are of three kinds. The sound of the kalpa that endures for a long time. Thus it is said. From the Great Tantra of Dispelling Elaborations and Clarifying Meaning, the twenty-fourth chapter, which explains the three kalpas. From seeing the sky, the lamp of clear appearance arises, A secret instruction for dispelling the darkness of night. vajra hūṃ ma ratna kāya oṃ jñāna kalavaga be kulaya sañca hūṃ dharma sara ketu hadu ya ā. At that time, the Bhagavan Great Vajradhara, Entered into meditative equipoise on the intention of the three kayas arising from compassion. Then again the Lord of Secrets asked: Kye Kye, Bhagavan Vajradhara! If it appears as the play of samsara, Then, in those two tamers, From the pure great Dharmakaya, How do the two kayas appear as play? Thus he asked. The Teacher replied: The appearance of the two compassionate kayas is also, On the nature of reality like space, Awareness is clear like a mirror, Compassion arises like sunlight, To the six kinds of beings like patients, With ignorance like darkness, They dispel the diseases of the three poisons. Thus it is said. Again, the Lord of Secrets asked: Kye Kye, Bhagavan Protector Vajra Amitabha! On the basis of the great appearance of the Dharmakaya, How is the resultant Sambhogakaya perfected?

Said. The Teacher taught: Compassion and the two forms of the body also Appear to those to be tamed. From oneself, wisdom appears as a body, The body with characteristics does not appear. For great self-aware wisdom, There are no signs, other appearances, or concepts. Again, the Lord of Secrets asked: Alas, alas, Teacher, you possess great compassion, Please speak of the five wisdom bodies. Said. The Teacher taught: From the essence of one awareness, All arise and appear, Therefore, it is also called the Great All-Appearing. Because self-awareness and qualities are unceasing, It is said to be the Great Self-Arisen. Endowed with the power of compassion, it is Limitless Light. Wisdom is unobstructed, it is Accomplishing All Meaning. That itself is unchanging, it is Immovable. Emptiness and awareness, The non-dual wisdom is unobstructed, It is the essence of the five wisdom bodies. Distinctions are made from the perspective of qualities. The definition is that, for wisdom, knowing in this way is unceasing, therefore it is the wisdom body. Or, one's own wisdom is unceasing, and because it appears as a body to those to be tamed, it is also called that. Again, the Lord of Secrets asked: What is the reason why the body does not appear to oneself? Said. Alas, Lord of Secrets, listen well. One's own awareness is insubstantial, primordially pure, and greatly transparent. To explain this meaning in detail: The basis of self-nature without other appearances, Because the form body has no characteristics, awareness is insubstantial. The two eyes are purified, possessing the wisdom eye, it is primordially pure and transparent. Above that, there is no other, therefore it is said to be great. Thus he spoke. From the Tantra of the Great Clarity of Meaning Beyond Elaboration, It explains the arising of compassion and the two form bodies from the Dharmakaya, and the chapter that explains that in the self-appearance of awareness in the Dharmakaya itself, there are no two bodies, the twenty-fifth chapter. Then again, the Lord of Secrets asked: Alas, alas, Bhagavan Vajradhara, Who are those called 'to be tamed'? How does the manner of appearance as a body appear? Thus he asked. The Teacher said: Lord of Secrets, listen well. In the perfectly pure Dense Array, The nature of reality, the space inseparable from the Dharmakaya, The five vases of self-radiant wisdom, Appear as sprouts without ceasing. The five aspects of appearance of the purity of reality, Blue, white, yellow, red, and green, The unmixed, clear wisdom is complete. From within these five, the five bodies are accomplished. Situated in the five directions, the four cardinal directions and the center, The center is the All-Appearing.
