It is the nature of symbolism. Then the Bodhisattva further reported: Alas, Teacher Samantabhadra! The basis of various spontaneous achievements is not the true basis. If it were, it would become like this: These sentient beings, because of effort, will not be liberated, because they are defiled by ignorance. If it is said that liberation is achieved through the spontaneous arising of the cause of awareness, then will the fruit and cause be liberated simultaneously? For example, just as black coal cannot be turned white by cleaning, because cause and effect are different. Or if the fruit is not spontaneously achieved, then it is not spontaneously achieved. Similarly, if cause and effect are one, effort is equivalent to the spontaneous achievement of the fruit, there is no need to obtain the fruit through effort, the fruit itself is spontaneously achieved, and the fault of the contradiction between cause and effect cannot be avoided, becoming unnecessary. Therefore, is the meaning of the so-called basis of spontaneous achievement feasible? Samantabhadra said to me. The Teacher said 467༄༅། There is no self-nature or other-nature, no definite limit. Therefore, that is also not knowledge, not true. Or if it is determined to be the cause, where does the fruit come from? If so, if there is fruit on the cause, and the cause arises from the fruit, what is the difference? Certainly, I am no different from permanence. Is this also knowledge? What was said is the same as above. Then he reported again, saying: What was said before can be transformed. If one's own state can be transformed, this is also uncertain. If the state can be transformed, then the fault of the fruit having no end is avoided. Because the fruit itself will become the cause of sentient beings. The fruit will become the cause, so there is no need for effort. Because of repeated transformation, inanimate objects will become animate objects. For example, if the foundation is transformed, can inanimate objects now be transformed into animate objects? Just like not being able to go. Is this also beyond knowledge, not something that can be practiced? What was said is just that. Bodhisattva reported again: The Teacher said before that it was variegated. This also cannot avoid the fault of the basis and appearance becoming different. For example, it is like saying it is both a pillar and a cloth. If it is a pillar, it is not a cloth. This also

Like this, in the essence of nothingness, essence, temporarily determined by words, from the perspective of sentient beings, in the essence of nature, the essence of nature is originally pure, self-existing spontaneously, in the aspect of non-stopping. What is explained is also like that. To the teacher Samantabhadra, the Bodhisattva again pleaded, the essence of nature is originally pure, there is no ignorance, the cycle of sentient beings is unreasonable. The stain of ignorance is completely exhausted, because of original purity. What the teacher said, great Bodhisattva, because of the self-existing spontaneously. Although ignorance appears, that is also non-stopping, appearing as play. In the aspect of essence, it appears as the path of play. The Bodhisattva himself again pleaded, on the nature itself
