Great! The Vajra of Wisdom is greatly clear, the Vajra of Mind is greatly radiant, the Vajra of Ignorance is greatly dim, the Vajra of Intellect is greatly confused, the Vajra of Stupidity is greatly murky, the Vajra of Hatred is greatly blazing, the Vajra of Desire is greatly grasping, the Vajra of Pride is greatly arrogant, the Vajra of Jealousy is greatly submissive, the Vajra of Anger is greatly malicious, the Vajra of Circumstances is greatly cutting, the Vajra of Samsara is greatly attached, the Vajra of Attachment is greatly characterized, the Vajra of Infatuation is greatly desiring, the Vajra of Gathering is greatly collecting, the Vajra of Afflictions is greatly severing, the Vajra of Self is greatly clinging, the Vajra of Others is truly faithful. The Vajra of Delusion is greatly attached. Thereafter, the meaning of wisdom is shown to be infinite. All the truly great families, having explained and elucidated, apply it to the meaning. All the aspects of the delusion of enlightenment, not abiding in the realm, should be abandoned. Those who desire to transcend suffering, do not encounter the meaning of wisdom. However, take this meaning. If you stray from the meaning, enlightenment is far away. If you abide in the meaning, enlightenment is near. In order to exhaust delusion, wisdom itself, all the rays of light that blaze forth, arise from all directions. From the Sutra of Vows, wisdom itself, is to be explained in order to be well taught. The basis and path of the excellent explanation, have already been indicated and explained. The noble person who abides in this way, having exhausted the nature of phenomena, attains self-origination. Wisdom itself, self-originated and devoid of substance, is that in which grasping has not arisen. Thus, from the Tantra of the Great Self-Liberation of Awareness, the fifth chapter, which is the chapter on being devoid of characteristics and substance. Then again, the summary of the sixth chapter of Manjushri is taught. That noble youth then requested as follows: Alas, Bhagavan with limbs, if phenomena are empty in that way, for us, the retinue who have faith, the limbs of the king of tantras, please speak correctly and without error. Thus he requested. Then the truly spoken command: Alas, listen, you who have become a youth, the way of explaining the great king of tantras, is countless and inconceivable. Briefly stated, hold it well in mind. The limbs, names, and metaphors, and what should be excellently explained, and showing by combining words, and the order of excellent praise, in order to teach, in order to manifest, the chapters are distinguished separately. Because the teachings are not pervasive, and because they are spoken and countless, this great tantra with a name is spoken, and everything becomes like an eye. Those who have long dwelt on the path, by hearing this (tantra) will become closer. The names of the chapters explaining the scriptures will be spoken. After that, first the content of the chapters will be spoken. The chapter on the beginning of the great tantra is taught. The meaning is as explained above. The beginning of the great truth, and the beginning of the meaning of past words, and the beginning of speaking from the door of numbers are taught. The meaning of the second chapter is explained as, the detailed explanation of the branches of the beginning, the meaning is as truly explained above. The three meanings are shown in the words of the signs. The extensive beginning that occurred earlier, and the beginning of the subsequent realm, and the beginning of the logical reasoning of the meaning of words are taught. The third chapter teaches conduct, which is spoken from the extensive explanation itself. The meaning of the brief explanation has three meanings: the conduct of spontaneous means, and the object of conduct of logical words, and the object of conduct of symbolic names are taught. The fourth chapter teaches meditation. The method of explanation is as follows: three meanings are taught without doubt, the meditation of cutting off the object of focus, and the meditation of emptiness arising spontaneously, and the meditation of subduing signs are taught. The fifth chapter teaches the view. The meaning of the view has three meanings: the view of spontaneous liberation, and the view of abandoning neutral words, and the view of existence, non-existence, and temporal signs are taught. The sixth chapter teaches the meaning of empowerment. Empowerment itself also has three meanings: the empowerment of the secret mantra fruit, and the empowerment of the wisdom of view, and the empowerment of symbolic substances are taught. The seventh (chapter) teaches the qualities of empowerment. The qualities also have three meanings: the subjugation of external elements, and the generation of inner wisdom and warmth, and the degree of secret realization is a quality. The eighth (chapter) is the fault of not having received empowerment. That is also the teaching of three meanings. The appearance of wisdom itself is exhausted, the oral instructions are remembered but decline, and the aggregates of demons and so on increase. The ninth (chapter) teaches the relationship between teacher and student. That itself also has three meanings: the combination of the meaning of wisdom with essence, and the secret of the vessel can endure, and both cherish compassion. Fourth also, the tenth (chapter) teaches the vows and precepts. There are also three meanings to this: the qualities of protection are taught, and the faults of not protecting are taught, and the inability to protect is taught. Eleventh
