Although non-dual, the appearances of confused habitual patterns, a being of thought with the ability to understand, dissolves into the state of unchanging equality, and non-conceptual wisdom naturally arises. This is the great bliss stacked earth, like a pile of unarranged jewels, various natural things dissolve into this state. The grandfather of all Buddhas is known as unchanging light. The seed of all Buddhas is known as mind-less awareness. The pure eyes of all Buddhas are known as the four lamps. The palace of all Buddhas is known as the center of citta. The path of all Buddhas is known as the three bardos. The place where all Buddhas are transported is the great mandala of primordial purity. Likewise, all Buddhas are like that in their own continuum. Thus, from the Great Tantra of Self-Arisen Awareness, Chapter Thirty-One, which teaches the way of realization. Then, again, the Lord of Secrets said this: Ee! Ee! Blessed One, pure body, since the way of realizing awareness is like that, please speak of the metaphors of awareness. Thus he asked. Then, again, he said: Listen, Secret Lord! In the space of pure wisdom, non-conceptual clear awareness dissolves. Like the sun dissolving in the center of empty space. On the pure empty sky, the two lamps dissolve without obstruction. Just as all the small rivers gather in a great river. In the center of unborn awareness, the outer, inner, and secret dharmas gather. Just as in the center of a mirror, whatever is shown appears. On the awareness of empty space, the appearance of the lamps is unceasing, and it remains clearly and distinctly. Then he asked again: Blessed One, endowed with great compassion, please speak of the metaphors of meaning. Thus he asked. Then, again, the Lord of Compassion said: Listen, friends! The suchness of all dharmas will be represented by metaphors. Among them, the intention of the perfectly complete Buddha is based on the skandha of form, like lying in a grass nest. The place is in the heart, like the body of a vase. The path arises from the four channels, like a string of pearls. Coiling is in the conch shell.

Hovering in whiteness, like a lamp inside a vase. The door arises from the eyes, the lamp of the empty bindu, like the plumage of a peacock. The lamp of the wisdom of the sphere, like the letter "naro". The realm is empty space. The time is the appearance of the bardo. Like the mandala of a mirror. The conduct is a precious body, like a path of ice cliffs. The place of liberation is the appearance of primordial purity, like the body of a vase. Then again it was asked: Alas! Alas! Possessing great compassion, please speak of the metaphors illustrating how wisdom dissolves. Thus it was asked. Then again it was taught: Alas! Friends, in the appearance of spontaneous accomplishment, when one's own nature becomes strength and one sees the truth, one should recognize the eight ways of dissolving. That is, compassion dissolving into compassion, like the rays of the setting sun. Wisdom dissolving into wisdom, like a child entering its mother's lap. Light dissolving into light, like a rainbow vanishing into the sky. Body dissolving into body, like the body of a vase. Non-duality dissolving into non-duality, like a river dissolving into a river. Liberation from extremes dissolving into liberation from extremes, like the sky dissolving into the sky. The door of pure wisdom, the essence of primordial purity, dissolving into primordial purity, like a lion seizing a snow mountain. The door of impure samsara dissolving into the door of pure wisdom, like gathering up the ropes of a tent. These metaphors symbolize great meaning. Thus, from the Tantra of the Great Self-Arisen Wisdom, the thirty-second chapter, the chapter of symbolic metaphors, is complete. Then again, the Lord of Secrets spoke thus: Alas! Alas! Bhagavan, possessing great compassion, if the symbolic metaphors of reason are like that, then for the wisdom that arises without time, please speak of the presence or absence of grasping. Thus it was asked. Then again it was taught: Ah! Great Lord of Secrets, listen. Hold well in your mind what I teach. Without grasping, without birth, liberated in its own place. Without thought, equanimity, is the Dharmakaya. Cannot be grasped, like the moon in water. Like a magical knot. Self-born, self-liberated, is great. Without grasping, is the Vajra essence body. Not destroyed by conditions, possessing firmness and hardness. Grasping is liberated in its own place.
