|| Power rays, branches and so on, wisdom rises in the sky and so on, elements dissolve into the mother and so on, wisdom dissolves into the realm of reality and so on, being and non-being are without and so on, knowledge swirls in the sky and so on, awareness abides in its own place. Dissolving is without dimness, clear and without conceptualization, unmixed is without separation. Meaning accomplished, thought completely accomplished. Sudden arising, error cut off, is wrong thought. In the sky, conceptualization is unborn, realization itself is like the sky. Without attachment, like the sky, great self-interest arises like the sky. Because of equality, there is no sequential arrangement. Because of oneness, it is separate from the ten directions and things. Because of abiding in its own nature, it is spontaneously accomplished. It is the essence of primordial purity. There is no holding of extra thought. Thus it is said. From the Tantra of Blazing Sun and Moon, the fifth chapter, which shows the means of cutting off delusion, realizing, and the fruit. Then Vajrasattva, asked Samantabhadra himself, "What is the essence of the meaning of secret mantra?" After asking thus, the teacher Samantabhadra, entered into samadhi without radiating light. Rising from that, he said, "The essence of the meaning of secret mantra is the secret mantra that protects the grasped and the grasper. Unborn essence, the realm of condensed essence, unmade, free from all expressions. In the center of the realm of essence, the nature of reality, primordial purity, self-arisen, clear, abides. Outer liberation, inner purity, dualistic mind destroyed. Pure essence, the realm of the mother, cuts off all extremes of object-grasping thought. Unobstructed, clear light, self-awakened, ignorance, cut-off extremes, all pacified. Therefore, it protects from the object to be grasped. The basis of all, empty clarity, the realm of the nature of reality, transcends calculation, memory, thought, and mind. Therefore, it protects from the faults of the grasper. Dualistic mind is cut off at the root, there is no grasper or grasped. Protecting from the grasper and the grasped is secret mantra. Holding the three kinds of awareness is the holder of secret mantra. Letters do not arise from secret mantra. Merely indicating this name, even Samantabhadra cannot represent it. Because it cannot be identified, it is secret. Because it is clear and pervasive, it is mantra. Because things are originally non-existent, it is secret. Because there are various signs, it is mantra. The essence of clarity is the condensed essence. Mantra, self-clear, clear light, is light. The meaning is that dualistic grasping and elaboration are pacified. The essence of secret mantra is like that. The essence is self-burning, the sound of all-illuminating.

Oṃ! Chapter Six, which reveals the essence of the meaning of secret mantras, from the Tantra of the Blazing Sun and Moon. Then, Vajrasattva asked Samantabhadra: How is the king of vehicles explained? Having been asked, the Teacher, in order to show the retinue, entered into a samadhi that is free from expression. Having arisen from that samadhi, he spoke thus: This Great Perfection General Essence, the king of vehicles, is exemplified by the emptiness of space, and is taught as being without limit, center, partiality, or corner. Exemplified by the sun and moon, it is taught that all of existence is clear. Exemplified by the Garuda, the king of birds, it is taught as overpowering the inferior vehicles. Exemplified by the Brahma's thunder, it is taught as universally proclaimed, understood, and clear. Exemplified by the wheel of weapons, it is taught as cutting off the proliferation of delusion. Exemplified by a lamp in a dark room, it is taught as being combined with the gold of meaning. Exemplified by the essence of the sun, the essence of the innermost secret is taught again. Exemplified by the elixir that turns things to gold, it is taught as being liberated in its own place without being abandoned. Exemplified by the fierce posture of a tigress, the ordinary grounds should be cut off. Exemplified by the slow gait of a tortoise, the syllables should be carefully examined with words. The doctrines that are taught are nominal, and a doctrine that is understood without being taught is needed. A doctrine that is established by the mind is a collection of thoughts, and a doctrine that transcends the mind is needed. A doctrine that is made is conditioned, and a doctrine that is unmade and self-arisen is needed. The doctrines that are practiced are all contrived, and a contrived doctrine is a wish, and a doctrine that is without object and beyond thought is needed. Thus he spoke. Chapter Seven, which explains the General Essence, the supreme king of vehicles, from the Tantra of the Blazing Sun and Moon. Then, Vajrasattva asked Samantabhadra: How is it taught to the most excellent ones? Having been asked, the Teacher spoke thus to the retinue: In the essence, the primordially pure nature, although there is no birth or cessation, the lamp of speech is very clear, and the teaching to the most excellent ones is that the yogi who abides in this inexpressible state is fortunate, not distinguishing between self and other benefits, and enjoying the realm of illusion and spontaneous accomplishment. Ratna Dharma Sarva Dhatu Ah Sthim (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanized, Literal Chinese meaning). All the precious dharmas, in the temple where everything is merged into the sphere of reality, on the swift horse of the moving mind, self-
