Thus is the way. Thus he spoke. The second chapter, which shows the nature of things as they are. Then Vajrasattva asked the Teacher Samantabhadra: How do unenlightened beings become confused? After saying this, the Teacher Samantabhadra entered into the samadhi of radiating precious light, without gathering or scattering. Rising from that, he spoke these words to the assembly: The way unenlightened beings are confused is: Without beginning or end, pure from the beginning. The Lord of Space shows various forms. Self-arising from the edge of space. Various forms are born from mind. Various cognitions have form and meaning. All forms are the glory of appearance. All forms are the holders. Various consciousnesses have the meaning of lineage. All self-knowing and other-knowing. The maker of various forms. Because the mind is disturbed by afflictions. Wisdom sinks into the mud of samsara. Because of being trapped in the shell of ignorance. The moving wind is the cause. Blocked by the obscuring darkness. The wheel of darkness becomes the condition. Not knowing the true meaning, not understanding the meaning. From the essence, nature, and compassion. Awareness is confused into mind by the change of mind. The wheel of mind is covered by the net of three. From the uncertain colors of the rainbow. The differences of caste are clearly visible. Desire, hatred, and ignorance. Pride and jealousy are confused into various forms. Experiencing the endless suffering of beings. Mirage ceases there. The example of the water snake not being confused is shown. Various bodies and places, etc. Grasping separately at self and what belongs to self. Experiencing suffering like in a dream. The appearance of existence and movement, thus confused. Thus he spoke. From the Tantra of the Blazing Sun and Moon, the third chapter, the chapter on the confusion of non-enlightenment. Then Vajrasattva. Again asked Samantabhadra. How to cut off confusion from the root? After asking this. The Teacher Samantabhadra dissolved into the samadhi of the self-nature of radiating light. Rising from that, he spoke these words to the assembly: Arising from space, self-arising. Wisdom is the great fire of wisdom. The lamp of beings is the lamp of wisdom. The gathering of glory, blazing with clear light. Cutting off the appearance of confusion with the sword of wisdom. Knowing the times, knowing the faculties of beings. The meaning of the five aggregates, in the three times. The differences of all moments

Ga Jie! The suffering of the three sufferings is extinguished, and one is definitely liberated from all obscurations. One who understands the three times and timelessness, one who is proficient in the three liberations. Three, eliminate the infinite, and attain the three liberations. Do not cling to self, do not cling to what is mine. The extremely pure selfless Dharma, the true selflessness is the Tathagatagarbha. Non-conceptual and spontaneously accomplished. Those with habitual tendencies are completely abandoned. Transcending all afflictive defilements, one is liberated from all bodies. Abiding well on the path of space, holding the great wish-fulfilling jewel. One who understands the three times and timelessness. All meanings are thus without arising. What is done and acted upon, liberation is liberation. Self-born wisdom needs no seeking. After liberation, it also shows the path of liberation. This Dharma-nature without appearance is attained without seeking. The suffering of sentient beings, the Bodhicitta, is liberated by abiding without contemplation. From that, without moving, it abides equally like the edge of space. Thus, with the wisdom of understanding, there is no manifestation, it arises from itself. Both inner and outer are outer nature. The profound part has no object of understanding. Phenomenal existence is merely a name, the emptiness of inversion. Therefore, meditation is separated from equality. In that, the words outer and inner, the nature abides like the aggregates and elements. The three times are inseparable from this, therefore there are no words to designate names. Not grasping, therefore selfless. Not abandoning, beyond words, equality. This rare and wonderful play, in abiding, there is no name of action. Without action, like space, there is no object of focus, ignorant and unknowing. That immediately arises from itself. This is the path of equality for all. It abides naturally in all sentient beings. Great wisdom, in an instant, one who understands all Dharmas. Originally pure Dharmakaya, originally accomplished, therefore no need to seek. Inconceivable, originally Buddha. Uncultivable, separated from objects. Without knowing, mind, or heart, cutting off memory and discrimination. The nature is clear, the sun of wisdom rises. Emerging from the shell of ignorance. The darkness of ignorance and samsara dissipates. Destroying the net of existence. Completely cutting off all illusory appearances. One, all knowledge is liberated, realization dawns. From the nature, essence, and great compassion, one understands the essence of body, speech, and mind. Cutting off the root of the three poisons and afflictions. Outer purity, inner clarity, destroying clinging. The nature is clear, luminous, and abides in realization. Thinking poisons, in the unreal temple.
